Description
Holiday apartment in a two-family-house at a short distance from the typical hamlet of Collemancio in one of the most authentic and characteristic areas of the region of Umbria. The equipped outdoor space with veranda is ideal for your "al fresco" dinners where, by the way, you can admire a beautiful panorama. Those who love arts can discover architectural beauties such as the San Biagio church in Cannara whose front has been built by means of white and pink stones, the San Matteo church dating back to the 14. Century, the San Francesco church dedicated to Sant Francis of Assisi with its beautiful frescos and the church called "Chiesa della Buona Morte". In Collemancio you can visit the castle dated back to the 12. century which can be found on the top of a hill in a dominating position with panorama view. In the month of July a local wine festival takes place in Cannara. Those who like trekking and mountain bike may organize some excursions over tracking and bike paths in the surroundings of the Martani hills. The town of Cannara is at 5 km distance only. The beautiful town of Assisi (20 km) is not to be missed where you may visit the beautiful basilica of Sant Francis with its Giotto frescos, its characteristic, small, medieval lanes and its excellent restaurants where you may taste local food. In the center of Assisi you may admire the Minerva temple with its subterranean square. Other medieval hamlets as for instance Spello, Gubbio, Foligno Bevagna and Montefalco and mills or wine cellar are to be visited in the surroundings.
