There are villas that give the feeling that half of Mallorca lies at one's feet. This is the case for the villa "Son Delabau Gran". Once you reach the extensive estate after a short drive from the Mallorcan airport, the feeling of timeless luxury will inevitably set in. Despite the attractive proximity to exciting cities such as Palma or Llucmajor, the view of the surrounding landscape exudes pure country idyll. And maybe the arched terrace also reminds you of the great days of your childhood, back when you had a particular liking for castles that seem like they are from a fairy tale. Narrow steps that contribute to the feel of an ancient landmark lead to a pretty roof terrace where you can absorb the island sun. The salty pool water temptingly sparkles in the sun, you might not be able to resist it for long. And why should you? After all, the pleasant effect of the salt water includes that food tastes much better afterwards. Especially if it was cooked in such a cosy outdoor kitchen, which is perfectly equipped for a big BBQ. When you lie on one of the loungers watching the sunset or when you use one of the seating corners - such as the pergola or the chill-out lounge - to try a glass of island wine, you will know: You did everything right, a more picture-perfect idyll does not exist. Wild romantic roses climb up the stone wall front in the entrance area.

When you enter, you are standing in a house with a special quality. You will find nothing superfluous here, the minimalistic and cosy style is reminiscent of the Scandinavian aesthetic, at the same time the "finca-ish" rural charm is still present in almost every corner. A comfortable seating area with a stone bench, which is immersed in warm light and is ideal for long nights of storytelling, could become one of your favourite places in the house. Then again, the green sofa from which you can look out into your dream garden might have something to say about that. There are two dining areas. One of them is right next to the already mentioned seating area and the house fountain, the other dining table is located in a larger room. The windows, which vary in size and shape, contribute to the originality of the magical ambience. One of the rooms even resembles a chapel with its colourful glass window in the ceiling. You could, for example, meditate here in the morning to start your day well-balanced and in good spirits. The distribution of the rooms is very quaint, you can reach the two bedrooms through winding halls. Each of them has an en-suite bathroom and the small third bedroom is the perfect abode for the children. The natural-stone wall elements in the house provide a homely castle feel which also conveys modernity thanks to the white shades and the friendly lighting concept.

You will therefore feel fresh when you leave the property in the morning. The street can be reached quickly, which can result in audible driving noise, depending on the direction of the wind. You are not much more than 10 minutes away from Llucmajor, where the lively Placa d'Espana offers a colourful medley of cafes, restaurants, and bars. Twice a week there is a market here where you can stock up on fresh vegetables, especially on Fridays. For a shopping trip, it is also recommendable to take the 20-minute car ride to the island's vibrant capital Palma, which entertains with its wide range of cultural offerings. Golf enthusiasts will get their money's worth on the Son Antem course, 1 km away. After a half-hour drive, you are standing in front of the paradisaical natural sandy beach Es Trenc. The drive to the Tramuntana mountains, which are perfectly suitable for hiking, takes about the same amount of time.
