Among a leafy row of Victorian houses, entering London Home 237 is akin to stepping onto the Serengeti plains. Cheetahs and zebras frolic on the artwork-hung walls of the sitting room, while big cats definitely had a paw in the striped and spotted designs of cushion covers and a vintage trunk. Pad across the dark wooden floor to find the kitchen, skylit and stylish with its rounded breakfast bar and leather-topped dining table for eight, before letting the little ones loose in the toy-filled garden.











Upstairs, you’ve a girly bunk bedroom, as well as a lush bathroom of fluffy white towels. While books, novelties and even a guitar await in the tempting top-floor playroom and double. The master has a king bed, vintage furniture and lots of light, the double is spacious and fluffy, and you’ve another glossy bathroom.

Perched between Clapham Common and the wilds of Wandsworth Common, you won’t be short on places to prowl for picnic spots. Nearby Northcote Road bustles with family shops and stalls, Clapham Old Town is hip with independent boutiques and fine delis, while Chez Bruce’s French and Mediterranean fare comes Michelin-starred. For those who wish to migrate to hunting grounds across river, the tube from Clapham South to Oxford Circus takes less than twenty minutes.
