Located in the beautiful Mallorcan village of Fornalutx, Villa Soller is a heavenly retreat, absolutely bursting with character and offering breath-taking views across the valley and beyond. With three bedrooms, this property is perfect for groups of up to five. Villa Soller dates back to the 18th century and has been lovingly restored, creating a unique holiday property that is full of personal touches and bohemian charm. Decorated throughout with colourful terracotta walls, cool flagstone floors, quirky artefacts and paintings, Villa Soller is full to the brim with distinctive, Mediterranean character.

Upon entering you are greeted with a cosy entrance hall which retains much of its traditional touches, with whitewashed walls and exposed beams. Stairs lead down to a study, the perfect spot for taking a quiet moment or two by yourself or getting stuck into a good book. Further stairs lead to a small living room, simply furnished with a seating area, coffee table, complimentary WiFi and flat-screen satellite TV, allowing the original, striking features of the room to take centre stage.

Back on the ground floor, the charming kitchen is boldly decorated in different shades of green and is a focal point of the property. With high ceilings, quirky furnishings and its own small snug, this kitchen is the perfect setting for guests to come together and enjoy good food. It is fully equipped with an electric hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher, and leads directly outside to the garden patio. On the ground floor, the eclectically decorated single bedroom has plenty of storage and a doorway leading out to the colourful gardens, allowing guests to enjoy a warm breeze as they rest.

The twin room overlooks the snug and has an additional single bed, with an adjacent shower room. With low, sloping ceilings, beautiful exposed timber, and a small seating area it's a cosy and homely space to retreat to at the end of the day. The third bedroom has a double bed and is quaintly decorated, with its own en-suite shower room. There are three bath/shower rooms in total, so there will be no long queues in the morning!

Outside, Villa Soller boasts beautiful gardens bursting with colour, palm trees and delightfully scented herbs. Perfect for exploring, the garden is full of secret nooks and crannies, vine clad terraces and secrets hidden around shaded corners. On the terrace is a good-sized swimming pool, complete with sun loungers, parasols, BBQ and a small area for eating. Located at the top of the garden, the swimming pool and terrace offers truly spectacular views across Fornalutx, perfect for watching sunsets across the beautiful, green valleys. Additional seating areas offer the luxury of choice when dining al fresco and enjoying the tranquil surroundings.

Set in the picturesque village of Fornalutx, Villa Soller is just a short stroll from the central village plaza. An authentic mountain village, Fornalutx is often referred to as the ‘prettiest village in Spain' and has an abundance of traditional rustic charm. Dating back over 1,000 years, Fornalutx has a rich history and remarkably remains almost entirely unspoilt, with cobbled streets, romantic stone houses and red tiled roofs. Fornalutx provides the perfect backdrop to explore the traditional beauty of its winding, narrow streets and charming Mallorcan architecture. The parish church is particularly striking, built in 1639 it still has some of its original gothic features, uniquely blended with baroque renovations.

At the heart of Fornalutx is the Placa d'Espanya, flanked by magnificent steps leading to the church and the top of the village. Within the plaza are numerous cafes, restaurants and tapas bars, offering a range of different cuisines and wine. With a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, it is a beautiful place to relax of an evening, enjoying good food with your fellow holidaymakers, taking in the idyllic views of lush vegetation and orange groves. Fornalutx has a couple of small stores offering freshly baked goods and produce. For those who want to partake in more serious shopping, nearby town Soller has a wider range of independent, boutique stores and a vibrant market every Saturday. From Soller, you are able to catch a tram directly to Palma, notorious for its excellent variety of shops.

If you are looking for somewhere to explore, Fornalutx's enviable location in Serra de Tramuntana is a paradise for hikers and mountain bikers. With multiple different routes available, it offers an incredible opportunity to take in the natural beauty of the surrounding areas and make memories that will last a lifetime. Experienced guides and walking tours are available (particularly for the longer routes), should you wish to fully experience the breath-taking surroundings.

The nearest beaches in Port de Soller are around 10km away and can be reached by tram from the nearer town of Soller. Port de Soller boasts magnificent views of the mountains and is a beautiful backdrop to watch the dramatic sunsets. Protected from overdevelopment, its natural charm has been preserved and the working harbour offers a variety of pleasure boat trips, giving you the chance to enjoy the stunning coastal cliff scenery. With a plethora of bars and restaurants to choose from, there is something to suit all tastes, and is particularly appealing to those wanting to sample fresh seafood.

The beaches, Platja des Traves and Platja d'en Repic are on opposite ends of the bay. Both offer golden sand, calm turquoise waters and sun lounger rental. Port de Soller is a place of unwavering beauty and is a must-see for those staying in Fornalutx.
