Description

Grain of truth

London Home 248 is all about detail. Whether it’s a rich slab of wood or a single perfect pear, every corner of this home is special. Gentle lavender and duck egg blue lend these Victorian rooms a delicate air, and, whatever the weather, the eat-in kitchen’s flooded with sunshine. Your quiet street is classically lovely, all pastel houses and neatly clipped hedges, and you’re a very short walk from Hurlingham Park and the river. Eat out in the cafes that cluster around Parsons Green and Fulham Broadway, or follow the King’s Road into Chelsea for designer shops, an arts cinema and a bevvy of ultra-glamorous restaurants.

With polish

Your host is a furniture maker, while your hostess works in marketing. His are the cabinets in the sitting room, and your hosts often make space for particularly treasured pieces before they are shipped off to their new homes.

Joined up thinking

For such modern interiors, there’s a timeless quality to Eddiscombe Road. It may be the high ceilings, the antiques and the soft colour palette, or maybe it’s simply the quality – everything, from the velvet cushions to the original artwork is the best of the best. The sitting room’s relaxing and bright, with an array of art and design books to enjoy upon the black leather sofa. The high-spec kitchen boasts a mountain of cookbooks, its modern units flowing through into a sun-dappled dining area, and on warm days, throw open the doors to the patio and watch the butterflies flit amidst ever-ripening tomatoes.

All three bedrooms are doubles, and the master is right at the top of the house, past a series of joyous photos. Luxuriate in a cloud of our White Company bubbles in the ensuite bathroom, and then, when ready for bed, slip between our crisp linen sheets.

Chop chop

You’re only just beyond Kensington and Chelsea, but there’s a surprisingly rural feel to Fulham. Let off some steam on the green lawns of nearby Hurlingham Park, or watch the rowers work up a sweat on the Thames, while you sip a pint of best. Then, eat out on Fulham Broadway, spend an afternoon gathering international brands on King’s Road, or catch a bus over to Kensington and the museums. The journey from Parson’s Green to Piccadilly Circus takes around twenty minutes.
