It is an excellent starting point to visit Florence, the city of Machiavelli full of art and history, with its Palazzo Vecchio that overlooks Piazza della Signoria, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with Giotto's bell tower, the prestigious gallery of the Uffizi, as well as the streets dedicated to shopping (Via Tornabuoni and Via Roma). Do not miss the opportunity to taste the specialties of Tuscan cuisine in the romantic trattorias immersed in the quiet of the Florentine countryside! Siena, a splendid medieval town, is 70 km away; plan a visit to witness the world-wide famous Palio horse race, held every year in July and August in the Piazza del Campo; worth seeing are also the Gothic-style Duomo and the old “Facciatone” (the unfinished façade) from which you can admire the splendid view of the countryside.
