Description

Villa Debora is an attractive private villa with pool, occupying a clifftop location, in a quiet neighbourhood on the Lisbon Coast. With a traditional look and country feel, up to fourteen guests can stay in this welcoming villa, set in the quite beautiful natural parkland between Sintra and Cascais.

Let's go straight to the view. It stretches out to sea as far as the horizon, with beaches and bays along the Portuguese Riviera bending away to the left and terracotta rooftops in the foreground. Spend time admiring this wonderful sight from many vantage points around the villa.

Back inside, the ground floor comprises an open-plan lounge and dining room which is cosy and inviting. Perfect for catching up with friends or spending quality time with family. The country kitchen is well-appointed, with a door leading directly out to your balcony. Here you'll find a dining table and chairs for fourteen and the best spot for soaking up your amazing view. It really is a superb outdoor dining room!

Also, on the ground floor, you have a double bedroom, a room with bunk beds, a bathroom and separate toilet. Up on the first floor, there are a further four double bedrooms, two of which can be adapted as twin rooms. Three rooms enjoy en-suite bathrooms. The two bedrooms facing the sea also benefit from a balcony and beautiful views.

Down on the lower floor is where you'll find your games room. This fantastic bonus space will be the venue for competition nights at table tennis and inter-family tournaments at table football and darts. It also features a fridge for keeping chilled drinks handy. And there's a laundry room!

Set into the clifftop landscape, Villa Debora's outside space is terraced. From the balcony, take the nine steps down to your delightful private pool and garden. If your plan is to bask in the Portuguese sun, there are several sun loungers to choose from or shade-seekers can retreat to the cool and charming covered dining area. Your private pool is attractively shaped with lovely corner steps to lure you in for a swim. An additional sun deck juts into the water.

Probably the best seat in the house, from here you can lie back, relax, read or snooze as you please. Remember to look up every now and then to remind yourself of your ocean view, before jumping directly into your private pool. What a way to spend a day! Or two, or three…

Villa Debora is wonderfully placed for days out and sporting adventures. It's just ten minutes to the nearest golf course, or five minutes by car to the beach at Guincho; reputed for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. The towns of Sintra and Cascais are within easy reach or you can simply set off on a walking trail, virtually from your door.

#### Location
With the dramatic Atlantic Ocean on one side and the protected Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais on the other, Villa Debora enjoys a simply wonderful location. A UNESCO world heritage site, the Sintra-Cascais parkland provides Villa Debora with peaceful scenery and mouth-watering places to visit. You can also take a clifftop walk via one of the nature trails down to the sea, looking out for rabbits, hawks and eagles along the way.

A short drive will bring you to a choice of some of Portugal's best beaches; Guincho, for the brave-hearted or Estoril for more sheltered waters. You can plan to spend the day at the coast, with bars, restaurants, water sports and surfing to entertain you and the family.

Golfers will need more than one week to sample all six courses within thirty minutes-drive of Villa Debora. The renowned greens of Oitavos and Quinta da Marinha are amongst them.

Sintra is twenty-two kilometres away and Cascais is just nine. A couple of centuries ago, Sintra, set in exquisite scenery and enjoying slightly cooler temperatures than Lisbon, was the playground of the rich. Today, their legacy of large palaces, tropical gardens and castles make this unique town a tourist hotspot. Thanks to a boom in gastro-tourism, it is also gaining a reputation for top-class restaurants popular with both locals and visitors alike.

To reach the coastal town of Cascais, you need to head north from Villa Debora along the N247, following it around the coast for spectacular views en-route. Reserved almost exclusively for King Luis in the 1800s as his summer retreat, Cascais today is an upmarket resort with a modern waterfront and bustling marina. After strolling around the old quarter and watching the nautical comings and goings, settle into a seafood restaurant to sample the catch of the day. Accompany shrimp or red snapper with bread, olives and a glass of local vinho, and you won't want to leave.
