Description

Lying on the edge of rolling countryside and close to the Somerset Levels, the Mendip Hills and the Blackmore Vale, Castle Cary is a small, attractive country town. Situated within easy reach of popular Bath, and with numerous quaint villages nearby, Round House Cottage is a stylish and comfortable base for your holiday adventures.

The cottage cleverly combines modern styling with original features, and offers generous space for up to four guests. As you enter the cottage there is an attractive original tiled hallway, leading to a front facing study, and through to the cosy sitting room with wood burning stove. The spacious kitchen is well-appointed with a range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and microwave, and leads through to the dining room with original flagstone floor. A cloakroom completes the generous ground floor accommodation. Upstairs are two comfortable king-size bedrooms, one with its own en-suite shower room. The third bedroom in the cottage is set up as a yoga/retreat room for guests to enjoy, and there is a family bathroom with free-standing bath and a double walk-in shower enclosure.

The front of the cottage looks out across Bailey Hill and the neighbouring cottages, and directly at what was the original town lock-up built in 1779. Just a short stroll away is the market place and High Street with a selection of shops, restaurants and cafes. Just a five-minute drive away is The Newt, a working country estate with magnificent woodland and gardens; and also Hauser & Wirth Garden and Gallery at Bruton. With so much to see and do in Castle Cary and the surrounding area, a stay at this lovely cottage is a must.
