Villa Buddha is an Asian-inspired, bright and beautiful villa situated on the outskirts of the sunny resort of Calheta. Built into the hillside, this three-storey villa affords unobstructed views over the nearby picturesque Madeiran villages, as well as the sapphire-blue Atlantic Ocean. In an ‘upside-down’ fashion, you enter on the second floor, where a hallway leads you to stairs to take you down to the first floor. Here you will find three gorgeous and thoughtfully-styled bedrooms, each with their own ensuite shower room. The first king bedroom is decorated in hues of blue, with its own four-poster bed and then the second king bedroom is tones of red, it too with a four-poster bed. Finally the twin bedroom is styled in green and grey, and all three bedrooms enjoy 100% cotton bedding, specially selected duvets and good quality mattresses, as well as blackout blinds to ensure a good nights’ sleep. Another staircase brings you to the ground floor and it is here that you will find the living areas, with a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living area flanked with patio windows that lead to the terrace with those mesmerising sea and countryside views. The kitchen is fully-equipped with all the same appliances as you’d come to expect back home, while the living area offers Cable television with DVD player, a BOSE music system and Wi-Fi internet connection. A utility area and further ‘snug’ lounge can be found on this floor, offering plenty of space for all the family to relax. With its positioning built into the hillside, a further set of external stairs from the ground floor lead you below to the swimming pool area, adorned with loungers, swing bed and bean bag puffs to lay back and soak up those views. Villa Buddha is a 10 minute stroll from a couple of café/snack bars, a mini-market, a pizzeria restaurant and the taxi rank, meaning you have some amenities close by but it’s also possible to take a 10 minute taxi ride into Calheta itself, for a larger expanse of restaurants, bars and the manmade golden sandy beach.
