Description

We are well aware that descriptions of hotels and holiday residences often tend to exaggerate a bit. We think that, in general, we skillfully avoid any such superlatives. But we simply can't avoid it when describing the finca "Can Fernando", especially when describing the unique location. We need all the adjectives we have. Over the last few years, we have visited far more than 1,000 different Mallorcan properties, but it wasn't until 2012 that we were first welcomed to "Can Fernando" by the very amicable owner Marga and her father Jeronimo. As we visited the finca with our photographer, we could hardly believe our eyes. Never before had we come across such a location. This holds all the more true as the estate sits in a slightly secluded location, at the end of a virtually never-used cul-de-sac. We simply didn't expect such a spectacular property here. However, after you enter the completely private estate through the wide entrance gate, over the imposing driveway, you immediately realise just how special this finca is. We are convinced that you too will marvel when first arriving at "Can Fernando". That's why we felt comfortable swooning over the property in the last few sentences, we can say with full conviction that this is the property with the most beautiful location in our entire portfolio. The finca sits perched atop a rocky plateau directly above the sea, with a breath-taking view of the water and large parts of the coast surrounding Cala Santanyí. Precisely speaking, "Can Fernando" is located where the sea enters the bay that holds one of the prettiest and finest sandy beaches of Mallorca's south. Watch as the small fishing boats set out for sea and return. Cala Santanyí features a shallow entry into the sea and is thus also ideal for children.

Now that we mention the "children", let's take a closer look at the property itself, which is very family friendly in its own right. The house haS a well-tended lawn where children can frolic. It should also be noted that the estate is well-protected from the steep cliff behind the finca by a fence. The finca can accommodate eight people and, with four double bedrooms, four bathrooms and a guest WC, the 240 m2 living space offers an excellent level of privacy. The kitchen is fully furnished (refrigerator, dishwasher, cooker, oven, coffee maker, toaster, etc.). Additionally, you can use the washing machine. Pleasant temperatures are guaranteed year-round with the heating and fireplace; fans offer a pleasant breeze if desired. Furthermore, the finca has a large, open-plan combined living/dining area, cleverly separated from the sleeping area through a small patio (fully in glass). This way, one part of the travel group can be a bit louder in the living area or on one of the delightful terraces while overlooking the sea in the evening, without disturbing those who hit the hay a bit earlier. To make sure that all amenities are available at maximum occupancy as well, you can borrow an additional electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster, and fans.

You can set off on lovely footpaths in the immediate vicinity. For example, a beautiful costal trail leads from S’Amarador around Kap Punta de ses Gatoves to the small rocky bay Caló d’en Perdiu and further along to Kap es Blanquer. Even the rest of the local area, including the saltworks, fjords, and the quaint, old town of Santanyi, is well worth more than just one day out. The impressive market in Santanyi is on every Wednesday and Saturday, except for bank holidays. In Cala Figuera harbour, we recommend watching the fishers bringing in their catch in the afternoon with a nice cup of coffee.
