In Caprese Michelangelo you can not only visit the birthplace of Michelangelo, it is also a charming hill town with several excellent restaurants where you can enjoy the local specialties - wild boar, porcini mushrooms, truffles, pecorino sheep's milk cheese. Located halfway between the Tiber valley and the mountains of the Casentino, you can choose between culture and nature: drive down into the valley to the charming towns of Anghiari, Citerna, Sansepolcro (25-30 km) or to Città di Castello ( 40 km) or uphill (in the footsteps of St. Francis !) To the rock monastery La Verna (12 km); the adjoining Casentino Natural Park invites to hiking, trekking and biking. Here the temperatures are pleasant even on hot summer days. In spring and autumn you can enjoy the warm thermal baths of Bagno di Romagna (30 km). A trip to the Adriatic is also no problem from here (Ravenna or Rimini about 110 km). In Pieve S. Stefano (8 km) you will find everything for everyday use. A small grocery store is located at the bar / pizzeria at the foot of the settlement, 300 meters from here.
