#### Location
Cala en Porter is a great location for a holiday with family or friends. There is much to do, and it is very easy to get there from the airport. It is literally 10-15 minutes away. The beach is stunning. The walk down the 181 steps is definitely worth it, but if you are not up to it, you can drive down or take a little train. There is a great tapas bar on the beach. There are lovely views of the gorge, and a huge number of colourful fish can be found if you snorkel. The restaurants are superb as are the bars. If you like live entertainment then a trip to Covas den Xoroi, a cave-come-bar-come-nightclub, is a must.

Cala en Porter is very close to the capital Mahon. This cool capital does a great job of mixing culture and history with beach life. There are many beautiful churches and various architectural treasures to visit, many cocktails to sip in chic surroundings and wonderful, idyllic beaches to chill out on. There are charming shops to visit for souvenirs and trinkets. The 18th century Xoriguer Gin Distillery is very interesting and worth a visit to sample the gins, liquors and herb drinks.

A 20-minute drive takes you inland to Alaoir. The beautiful maze of charming, narrow streets is full of lovely little shops, restaurants, bars and ice-cream parlours. The Munt de l'Angel Park has magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. The town is famous for its shoemaking. You can visit the Pons Quintana factory shop as you no doubt will need some more shoes for the suitcase! Alaior is the birthplace of the internationally renowned Menorcan cheese (Queso de Menorca), as well as homemade sausages, ice creams, pastries and liquors, so a great place to pick up some goodies.

Son Bou is also close by with its superb, long beach, shallow waters and the Prat de Son Bou nature reserve with dunes, marshes and diverse birdlife.
