Description

Looking like it may have sprung out of the pages of a fairy-tale-book, this unique holiday home with its stunning lakefront position, is an idyllic place to enjoy all that Lake Maggiore has to offer.
Take the sunny lawn that stretches and slopes down towards the lake at the front of the villa. Here's the perfect spot to set up your sun lounger, soak up some Italian rays and that lovely lakeside atmosphere. And with two terraces at the side (one with a built-in BBQ) and a beautiful flower-covered pergola with free dining table jutting out towards the lake, there's plenty of opportunities to make the most of outdoor living and those views.
Even inside you'll find this. Step into the spacious but oh-so-cosy living room with its generous windows, and you'll find more panoramic vistas awaiting you. Or, you may just want to sit, relax, watch a little TV and read a book in this bright, airy room. Complete with an exposed brick feature wall, piano and sweeping staircase, it's an inspirational spot to feel like you're really on holiday. And relax...
Although there are other spots to enjoy a little alone or family time - a small study with a squashy leather sofa, seating on the landing or a sociable dining room where you can re-connect and enjoy a tasty old pasta feast.
The seven bedrooms at Villa Fornaci offer many possibilities depending on your group set-up. All individually-styled there are double bedrooms, twin rooms and even a separate apartment on the remarkable top floor with two bedrooms, its kitchenette and bathroom.
This is a lovely villa in a peaceful residential area close to the village of Ispra, with all your holiday needs taken care of, including a small number of restaurants and cafes. There's also a scenic lakefront promenade and marina, although you can always go for a refreshing swim in the lake from your front garden, or take a canoe out if you're feeling adventurous.
Also, just 6km away from Angera with its historic castle, and 15km from Laveno, you can hop on to a ferry and venture out to the majestic Borromean Islands for a particular trip you won't forget.

#### Location
There's something magical about the lakes of northern Italy bordering Switzerland - the snow-capped mountains, elegant villas, charming villages and narrow glacial lakes, all of which make for a camera-ready scene of eye-popping beauty.
And Lake Maggiore, Italy's second largest lake, is no exception. Sleepy cobblestone villages, exceptional flowers, views over glittering waters, ethereal islands and the odd castle - it's no wonder such illustrious visitors as Byron, Shelley and Hemingway graced its very shores.
When the Simplon Pass train from Switzerland, one of the Alps most beautiful crossings opened, it meant easier access to this beautiful lake. And many visited for all its beauty, including its little islands located on the western arm of this stunning stretch of water: the tiny Isola Bella - a place of decadent parties for the nobility of Europe; Isola dei Pescatori with its population of just 50 people and a number of fabulous fish restaurants; Isola Madre featuring the most beautiful botanical flowers. The Borromean Islands are well worth a visit.
Inland, explore the pretty town of Stresa situated below the majestic peak of Mottarone and enjoy its many cafes, restaurants and bars - especially the ones with views out to the Borromean islands.
Why not take a cable car up Mottarone for a truly spectacular view across the Alps? Amble around the town of Verbania or Cannobio's lakefront piazza with its ancient buildings. Then there's picturesque Maccagno and Luino with its famous market - amongst many more on this enchanting lake that will quite literally take your breath away.
