Description

Nestled in the scenic hills of the Sierra Almijara National Park, just a short walk from the delightful village of Frigiliana, Villa Agnes is a converted sugar mill and a unique home perfect for those looking for something a little different on the Costa del Sol, well away from the crowds.
Entry to the house is into the spacious living room, where an extremely comfortable sofa sits in front of the traditionally styled wooden coffee table, all in front of a flat-screen TV. A separate lounge area, in front of the wood-burning stove, is the ideal place to curl up on a cool evening and enjoy a glass of wine, or a good book! The fully-equipped, incredibly modern kitchen is perfect for any keen chef to prepare a light snack, hearty feast and indeed anything in between! A large dining table adjoins the living area, with space for the whole group to gather to enjoy a meal, a game or simply a good conversation!
Heading upstairs, three of the fabulous bedrooms are on the first floor, with charming modern furniture finished in a traditional style. There are one double room, one twin and the gorgeous master bedroom complete with walk-in wardrobe and a shimmering ensuite bathroom. A small terrace completes the first-floor, the ideal spot to enjoy a morning coffee in the fresh air. The final bedroom, a large double, is on the lower-ground floor. All four bedrooms are incredibly spacious, simultaneously airy and cosy, with a welcoming feel, and the lower-ground floor room even opens onto its terrace! On the lower-ground floor, there is also a utility room, ensuring you can keep on top of the daily tasks with ease. All four charming bedrooms are accompanied by equally beautiful ensuite bathrooms, all of which are bright and modern, tiled and a pleasure to use.
Outside, the garden is perhaps as stunning as the interiors, with vast open terraces enjoying views stretching all the way to the Mediterranean Sea, a large BBQ and a private pool, surrounded by comfortable sun loungers. A modern, glass-topped dining table in the garden, shaded a little by the surrounding trees, ensures you can enjoy an al fresco meal any time of day!

#### Location
Villa Agnes is located in the hamlet of La Molineta on the outskirts of Frigiliana, a charming village once voted the most beautiful in all of Andalucia – and with its winding cobblestone streets, pristine whitewashed houses topped with terracotta Roman tiles and healthy flower pots adorning every windowsill, it's no wonder why! Historic buildings and sites of Muslim and Christian origin are strewn throughout the cobbled streets, evidence of a deeply multicultural history. And sitting just on the edge of the Sierra Almijara National Park, the surrounding landscape is sublime: thriving acres of avocado orchards and olive trees are nestled among luscious rolling hills and winding rivers as they slope towards the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea. Yet in the quiet tranquillity, Frigiliana still manages to offer an array of restaurants, services and shops for those who prefer to travel on foot.
In the nearby town of Nerja, just a ten-minute drive away, you can enjoy fiestas and concerts, learn flamenco dancing or pick up some of the local wares at one of the many markets or boutique shops. Malaga, the nearest city at less than an hour away, is the largest city on the Costa del Sol and historically and culturally incredibly rich, putting ever more activities and amenities at your fingertips. As the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, the city is of course brimming with museums and art galleries, set among a beautiful cityscape of castles, cathedrals and theatres.
The Costa del Sol itself is largely peaceful and quiet, as although there is a large amount of tourism, largely for the fantastic beaches and warm climate (the average water temperature year-round is 18°C!), the tourists tend to stick to the much more developed south-western part. The region of Andalucia is a diverse one both culturally and in the landscape, where picturesque beaches, ancient cities and deserts meet the incredible Sierra Nevada mountain range, which includes both the most southerly ski resort in Europe and the highest point of continental Europe!
