Description

The glorious Villa Tambora sits poolside on the beautiful Casa de Campo resort in the southern Dominican Republic. Directly overlooking the resort's most famous golf course, Teeth of the Dog, this six-bedroom property is also impressively close to the resort's private beach, and incorporates a large amount of indoor and outdoor living space.

Right beside the pool you will find a pergola with covered seating and dining areas that make a fine hangout day or night, as well as an array of sun loungers. Next to the main pool you also have a circular hot tub, and all this comes with a delightful view of the palm-fringed lawns and ocean beyond.

The open-fronted house allows you to weave in and out as you please. The interiors are elegantly furnished and have an open feel, so this villa never feels crowded. Among the highlights are the chandelier-lit dining room and an adjacent lounge with huge flat screen television and home theatre system. A large kitchen is also available for your use, or that of the chef who forms part of this villa's staff – there is also a butler and housekeeper.

All six of the large bedrooms have air-conditioning, a walk-in wardrobe, television and their own private bathroom – three of these bathrooms also provide disabled access. The Master suite adds in some extra features, such as a King-size bed, Blu-ray and DVD player, Bose radio and an entrance hall. There is also a wonderful sea view from the private balcony. Younger children are well catered for at Villa Tambora, with an extra twin and trundle bed in one room, and cots available for infants.

The Casa de Campo resort has some excellent facilities and attractions waiting for you, with multiple restaurants, a beach club and private beach and an array of sports facilities including tennis courts and three golf courses. The villa is less than 2km from the stunning marina area, and just over 5km from Altos de Chavon, a painstaking recreation of a 16th Century European village.

#### Location
A short drive from La Romana International Airport, Casa de Campo is perhaps the finest resort in the Dominican Republic. With around 50 years of history, it offers some incredible facilities and experiences, notably three highly regarded golf courses, including the spectacular, ocean-view Teeth of the Dog, and the wonderful Mediterranean village of Altos de Chavon.

A gym and spa are among the resort's many attractions, and those seeking sport will find a shooting range, equestrian centre and soccer school. As well as the three golf courses, there are thirteen tennis courts, polo fields and even night golf, played with colourful, LED-lit balls. You can enjoy many water-sports at the resort too, including snorkelling, sailing and deep-sea fishing.

Casa de Campo's private Minitas Beach is an idyllic place to spend your days, and its cool beach club is the place to dine and take in the incredible ocean views. There is often live music or a DJ to accompany your meal, but if you prefer a different vibe, there are numerous other restaurants around the resort too.

Be sure not to miss Altos de Chavon, a village which looks old, but only dates back as far as 1982. Positioned beside the Chavon River, it features an archaeological museum and cultural centre, artist's galleries and a very special 5,000-seat amphitheatre. A big venue which has attracted many big names, it's well worth checking out who will be playing there during your stay.
