Description

A charming villa with all the amenities you could wish for, Binibeca Gin is the ultimate Menorcan holiday home. Outdoor living is maximised at this property, thanks to several spaces to relax on the terrace alongside the villa. The porch has cosy rattan sofas with lots of cushions and a separate sofa area, ideal for curling up on with a good book. The sparkling pool is perfect for a refreshing swim surrounded by greenery - sunbathe on the loungers and admire the ocean views.

There are five double bedrooms and a further two in an annexe on the ground floor - making this villa well suited to groups of families or couples travelling together. Rooms are designed in a relaxing style with cream walls, marble floors and luxurious 300-thread count Egyptian linen on the beds. Many of the rooms have gorgeous ocean views.

Colourful paintings hang on the walls, while mandala-printed cushions and splashes of blue add character to space. One bedroom has its own living space, with a pair of armchairs and a modern black glass coffee table, accompanied by a coffee and cream coloured rug. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, beautifully decorated in tonal marble with glass-encased showers and convenient dual sinks. High-quality American terry-cloth towels are available for guest use, with a separate set of pool towels.

The living space is filled with greenery from a large array of houseplants. There are plush cream sofas and richly-patterned soft furnishings. An enormous amount of natural light streams in from the floor to ceiling windows. The villa is air-conditioned, so this space is perfect for recuperating from the Menorcan sunshine.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of countertop space to prepare dishes for the whole family. A kitchen island stands pride of place, with lots of modern appliances including a coffee maker, large American fridge and an oven. Quirky details like a fine china tea set add a charming touch. Guests can dine alfresco on the terrace around the large wooden table or indoors.

#### Location
Nestled within a picturesque fishing village with winding streets and dotted with limestone houses, Binibeca is popular with local and international tourists alike. Located at the southeastern end of the island, the villa is just 500m from Binibeca Beach. The village has a captivating charm that is perfect for families.

There are also plenty of amenities nearby, including a small commercial centre, restaurants and bars. Overall, the island of Menorca has a more relaxed, languid feel than its Balearic neighbours of Majorca and Ibiza, but there is still a multitude of activities for all tastes.

One of the best attractions nearby is the harbour of Mao, a 2km-long stretch lined with cafes and art galleries. There are also some lovely boutiques that offer great shopping - a fabulous souvenir would be some locally-made avarcas sandals, as Menorca is known for shoemaking. Descend the steps of the harbour to spot luxury yachts and visit the famous gin distillery where guests can sample Xoriguer gin. In terms of food, local Menorquin delicacies to try include lobster stew, baked squid or octopus and sobrassada - paprika-spiced sausages.

Binibeca beach has powdery white sand and crystalline water, set against a backdrop of cliffs and lush pine forest. In the Binibeca area, there are also four other smaller coves - Biniancolla, Binisafuller, Biniparratx and Binidali. While not too busy overall, the beach has a reputation for great diving, especially among the shipwreck. Snorkelling and kayaking are also popular activities at Binibeca. However, there are great beaches all around the island, since Menorca has 216km of coastline.

Check out the Calas Coves, with its impossibly blue water, framed by cliffs. The coves are just 17km from the villa. This spot has a mystical quality beloved by many who frequent it. Alternatively, visit the island's best-kept secret, Cala Escorxada, accessible by a one-hour hike from Santo Tomas. Follow the coastal route to be rewarded with pristine sands, dazzling turquoise water and far fewer crowds.

For a thrilling experience that showcases the best of Menorca's wildlife, the Jeep Safari Menorca has got you covered. Local guides take groups of passengers in 4x4s around the backroads and hidden gems of the island to spot indigenous flora and fauna. It's a great opportunity to learn more about local life and the animals that inhabit the island, such as the black Menorquin horse.

To get a superb panoramic view of the island, head to El Toro, Menorca's highest peak. To reach the top, there is a moderate 2 hour hike. From here, adventurous guests can enjoy the most unique way to see the island - paragliding above it. Glide in tandem with an experienced instructor back to the ground - it will truly be an unforgettable experience.
