A 20-minute walk down a nearby tiered stairway will take you to Mazzar's sandy beaches and the small island of Isola Bella. And Taormina's historic centre, with its conveniences and old attractions, is only a short walk away.

Following the pathway down the cliffside to the coastline leads to sandy beaches. Mazzar is an excellent area to spend a peaceful afternoon. Isola Bella, a little island and nature reserve, is a gem.
Taormina is steeped in history, and one of its most stunning monuments is the ancient Greek open-air theatre, Teatro Antico di Taormina. There are also the ruins of old city walls, a mediaeval cathedral, and a hilltop church to explore.
More ancient history can be found nearby Giardini Naxos, while Mount Etna is just over an hour away.
