Description

Casa Antica is a unique example of traditional Mani and modern architecture. Built in 19th century and reconstructed in 2012, this awarded villa speaks of history and local heritage.

Casa Antica is located in a picturesque settlement next to a miniature Byzantine church. The villa welcomes its guests with an old wooden gate opening to a courtyard where an external staircase connects it to the top level.

Both the preservation of the existing stone shell of the house and the clear differentiation of the new integrated constructions-interventions, have been the guiding principles in designing this project. A daily living space with a living room, a dining area and a kitchen is located on the top level. The outdoor terrace called "liakoto" offers beautiful views to the sea and the settlement.

The Master Bedroom with en suite bathroom is located on the middle level and there are further two bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor. Lightweight steel stairs, massive stone walls and visual contact between the different levels are unique characteristics of Casa Antica.

Casa Antica was awarded as the best built project in Greece in years 2010-2012.
