Description

This rustic natural stone villa is as enchanting as its name is: "Puput". It means "hoopoe", and if you've ever had the chance to hear the song of this rather rare, gorgeous bird, you'll recognise that the Catalan name is an onomatopoetic echo of its call. As lovely as the striking plumage of the bird, the elegant little villa with its authentic Mallorcan look is accessed via a normal country lane. It's a true gem indeed, enveloped by a natural garden with olive trees, sundry Mediterranean flora, little purple flowers, broad grassy areas, and delicate plant beds. The saltwater pool is lined with blue mosaic tiles and is the perfect place to find those cool moments of refreshment. Before – or after – taking a dip, relax in one of the sun loungers nearby, which you can also push beneath the natural shade of the olive trees. There are roofed areas near the house where there's enough room for a dining table and a lounge area. The outdoor areas are attractively furnished with stylish and comfortable synthetic rattan furniture. Since the brick grilling station is right next to the veranda, there's nothing standing in the way of a family evening barbecue. At the end of the day, you'll get up from the quiet, comfy spots outside, where the only noise you'll hear is the chirping of the crickets, and head into the cosy villa for the night.

The layout of the house is tremendously compact. Two comfortable, air-conditioned bedrooms with one double bed or two single beds offer a good night's sleep and enough storage space for all your clothing. The bathroom, tiled in a variety of earth tones, features a floor-level shower. The living area is built on an open plan, so the cosy crackling of the fire should fill the whole room. The light-coloured couches are arranged right next to the open fireplace; this is also the ideal spot for a relaxing evening or two around the TV. The kitchen is visibly separated from the living room by a counter with two stools. The "L"-shaped country kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences to make the time you spend cooking together a real pleasure. There's also a dining area for when you'd rather have your breakfast indoors. Thanks to the air-conditioning/heating system and the cosy fireplace, the house can be used all year round. In the mild winter months and the time of year when the almond trees are in bloom, it can be let at a very attractive price – which is why we warmly recommend this lovable casita to you.

Ideal for a small family, the villa rústica "Puput" fits wonderfully into the rural lifestyle of southern Mallorca. The little towns of Campos and Santanyí captivate visitors with traditional stone houses, labyrinthine alleyways, and lovely little shops – not to mention some nice bodegas. Campos holds its weekly market on Thursdays and Saturdays. Enjoy regional specialities like sobrassada (a raw, air-dried sausage traditionally produced in Mallorca) with some capers and a nice glass of red wine, as there are quite a few vineyards in this region as well. Indulge your palate at some of the excellent restaurants around here, and burn off the calories with a cycling tour or a round of golf at the gorgeous Vall d'Or golf course, so you can cut a fine figure on the beach at Es Trenc, known for its "Caribbean" feel. We at Fincallorca wish you an enjoyable holiday all across the board!
