Description

Spacious, elegant and just 3km from the beach in Foz do Arelho, Casa Agatha enjoys a beautiful view of Portugal's Silver Coast. Set in large gardens, the villa provides accommodation for up to 10 guests and features its own private pool and sun terrace.

This impressive property offers privacy and a lot of space – through the electric gates you'll find a large lawn and terrace with covered seating and dining areas, and a magnificent swimming pool of 12m x 4.5m. An outdoor shower is available, along with 10 sun loungers and a brick barbecue. A roof terrace offers more outdoor space, with a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean.

Inside the house, you have a games room equipped with pool table, ping pong and table football, and there's satellite TV and Wi-Fi internet access too. There are two living rooms, both with dining areas, on the ground floor, as well as a modern kitchen equipped with a coffee machine, gas hob, dishwasher and much more. A twin bedroom can also be found on the ground floor, along with an en suite bathroom.
Upstairs, via an attractive staircase in the chandelier-lit hall, there are four more bedrooms – each with a queen-size bed and en suite. Several of these rooms also have access to the upper balcony. If you are bringing young children two cots and high-chairs are also available at Casa Agatha.

This villa not only enjoys close proximity to the beach, but also to notable towns like Obidos and Caldas da Rainha. In Obidos, you can discover a medieval, walled Old Town which leads you to a well-preserved castle with great views over the area. Caldas da Rainha is a picturesque spa town with some architectural gems and a beautiful park with a lake and hospital pavilions dating back to its time as a hydrotherapy resort in the 15th century.

#### Location
There's plenty to see both on and near Portugal's Silver Coast, an attractive stretch east of Lisbon. One of the most popular sights in the region is the medieval town of Obidos. It's an hour's bus ride from the capital (the fastest way to reach it), and is dominated by its castle and the Old Town walls which you can take a walk along.

Look out too for the Porta da Vila gateway which leads you to the main shopping street, Rua Direita. Containing an elaborate blue-tiled wall, baroque balcony and intricate, painted ceiling it's an impressive sight. The ambiance around town is relaxed and feels authentically Portuguese – have a stroll around after the tourist buses have left to enjoy it to the full, perhaps with a glass of the local Ginjinha liqueur in hand.

Around 11km north, the spa town of Caldas da Rainha offers yet more eye-catching architecture – the church of Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Populo and the impressive City Hall are just a couple of notable buildings. Also high up on the list of must-sees is the park named after former monarch King Carlos I, the perfect place for woodland walks, picnics or a boat trip on the lake.

To the west of Caldas da Rainha, across the lagoon, the attractive coastal town of Foz do Arelho has some excellent beaches waiting for you. Further south, Peniche occupies that little lump poking into the Atlantic Ocean – a position that makes it a sought-after surf spot. You can also ride the waves with a boat trip out to the beautiful nature reserve on Berlengas island.
