Description

Honeysuckle cottage is a 3 bedroom cottage providing self-catering accommodation for up to six guests. The lounge, Kitchen and dining area are open plan. Patio doors open from the lounge onto a decked patio area, with outdoor furniture, overlooking the large garden with little tikes play area and two children's play houses. The bedrooms consist of one master, with king size bed, balcony and en suite, a twin and the middle bedroom which can be a twin or single bed and cot these bedrooms share the family bathroom. There is ample parking in front of the cottage. If you don't wish to use, or bring your car, there is a bus stop within a couple of minutes walk, the train also stops in Shanklin town, there is nearby cycle hire and plenty to keep you busy within walking distance. Honeysuckle is child friendly, equipped with stair gates, high chair, travel cot, toys and bed guards if needed.
Honeysuckle Cottage is tucked away on the edge of the picturesque Shanklin Old Village, on the south eastern corner of the island. The safe, sandy, award winning beach is only a 10 minute walk away whilst the centre of the old village with its pretty thatched cottages, tea rooms, and pubs are just a few minutes walk. Shanklin Chine and Rylstone gardens, with crazy golf, tea rooms and bandstand, live music is played here during the summer months, and Big Mead Park are also just a few minutes walk away. Big Mead has a large area to picnic, plenty of room for ball games, a duck pond, play area and is next to St. Blasius 12th century church. This is all on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty, as is a large area of the Isle of Wight. There are many stunning coastal and country footpaths, some can be joined at the end of the road. Shanklin has a variety of amusements and traditional beach shops cafes and ice cream stalls. An easy flat stroll along the revetment will take you through to Sandown, another popular seaside town.
