Description

The first time you visit the villa "Es Voltor Negre", you'll be thoroughly impressed by the exclusive character of this well-maintained villa and its marvellously secluded location. The main building features a huge, rough stone portico that houses the covered terrace area beneath its massive arches and columns. There's also a stone tower that can be accessed by a staircase, though this structure is purely decorative. Atop a tall column in the garden, a sculpture depicting a bird appears to "watch over" the villa. It lends the property its very noble, almost sacred character, which you'll encounter time and time again here, both out here and inside the house. From the terrace, an elaborately paved surface leads to the safely fenced-off pool area, passing through a carefully planned green space with palms of various heights and typical Mediterranean blooming plants. A sun terrace surrounds the pool, which is decorated with tiles arranged in a meander pattern and has broad, flat steps leading down into the water. There's enough room up here for eight light-blue aluminium lounge chairs and two umbrellas to provide shade if you need it. In the pool area you'll notice another stone building with double doors facing the pool. It contains a BBQ and an outdoor kitchen, along with a bathroom (which is of course quite useful after a dip in the pool). In the middle of this brilliant little party house is a long dining table so you and your friends can enjoy the rustic atmosphere as you plan your evening BBQ. Another outdoor dining area is located under the stone arches of the portico and right outside the main kitchen. There's also a lounge area with comfy wicker furniture out here, and another table, this one with a mosaic surface and a Middle Eastern vibe. A few select sculptures placed here and there provide the outdoor area with a striking ambience that underscores the villa's exclusive nature.

A heavy, antique wooden portal leads into the foyer of this grand villa. Walls made of rough stone, sweeping elliptical arches, and a dark marble staircase all testify to the classic tenor of the villa. An opening in the stone wall leads to the living room, which features a light-coloured sofa arrangement and a modern LCD TV. A chandelier and a heavy wooden grandfather clock give the whole ensemble a rather lordly character, and a set of wood-framed sliding doors leads into the kitchen, which leads out to the terrace. The large farmhouse kitchen, with wooden cupboards and a round table and chairs, is equipped with full facilities to provide you with all the conveniences you're used to while you're holiday. Two of the villa's four bedrooms are located on the ground floor. One of the bedrooms will astonish you with its stately furnishings brimming with Mallorcan tradition, including an elaborate coffered ceiling, a hand-turned bedstead, and a gorgeous country wardrobe. All of this is set against the backdrop of a light marble wall, for an effect that's simply majestic. The three other bedrooms are also unique in their design and furnishings: one has a cosy canopy bed, another has a wrought-iron double bed, and the last one has two modern, white single beds, making it an ideal room for the kids. The two bedrooms with air-conditioning, one on each level, are pictured in the images numbered 33–36. Each floor features one luxurious bathroom with brown marble and other elegant, nostalgic details. The stately black marble staircase leads past a round stained-glass window up to the two bedrooms in the upper storey. One of the bedrooms up here features a custom-built stained-glass window with a maritime theme looking out into the stairwell, somewhat reminiscent of the lavish windows of a church. Both bedrooms in the upper storey have access to a sun terrace, where you can come in the mornings with a hot cup of coffee to enjoy the view of the gently rolling landscape. All in all, the exterior and interior areas of the villa are designed in a very upscale, very classic style that gives "Es Voltor Negre" its exceptional character and elegance.

Perhaps this classic, sublime charm is the very reason why the villa fits in so well in this region surrounding the medieval town of Artà. This lovely little burg is dominated by its medieval battlements and the pilgrimage church of Sant Salvador atop the town's hill, a landmark that's well known even far outside of Artà's boundaries. Since the local highway is also nearby, it's quite easy to get to other towns in the area such as Portocolom and its natural harbour or the seaside resort of Cala Ratjada and its variety of bars and nightclubs. And it's just as short a drive to the gorgeous beaches of the east coast, either along the Bay of Alcúdia to the north or the "Calas de Mallorca" to the east of the villa. These places also allow you to choose between well-developed sandy beaches with lots of leisure activities or totally deserted natural beaches. And when you return to the exclusive villa "Es Voltor Negre" after a long day of fun and exploration, enjoy the rarefied atmosphere of this opulent setting with a glass of superb Mallorcan red wine in your hand – and all at a rather modest price. We at Fincallorca wish you all the best on your relaxing, stylish holiday.
