Set on the tranquil sunny hills above Calheta, and close to amenities, the present owner, Elisabeth, sympathetically restored and refurbished her great grandmothers cottages to create this lovely character air-conditioned villa. Relaxing by the tranquil pool and large barbecue area you will appreciate its traditional traits and views. The very large living space with two seating areas, dining and fully equipped kitchen are all contemporary furnished and a delight to enjoy. All bedrooms are large and benefit from en-suite bathrooms. The air-conditioned large living space runs the whole of the ground floor, and includes two separate seating areas, each with its own flat screen cable TV, a dining table for 6 and a fully equipped contemporary open-plan kitchen and features the beautiful original wood stove and oven. All doors open to the front terrace that affords wonderful views of the countryside and ocean, and includes a herb garden for guests use. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and the same wonderful views. Accessed via one set of steps, the self-contained double bedroom is spacious and accesses via the hall, and what used to be the front door the rear of the property. The second staircase leads to the bedroom hall (which also has a door to the rear of the property) and the second double bedroom and twin bedroom. On the lower ground floor, the large pool is surrounded by a deck with sun loungers, the lawn and a small kitchen garden as well as a large covered and built-in traditional barbecue (with sink and electric 4-ring hob and fully equipped) and seating area, perfect for those balmy evenings. Guests are free to use the herbs from the herb garden and vegetables and fruit from the kitchen garden. A bread van passes daily by the front door.
