Boasting 130 years of history, Villa Perhalis is a majestic, traditionally styled beauty just a few minutes from the coast!

Constructed in 1890, yet renovated in 2017, this villa combines the charm of a historical home with the elegance and comfort of a contemporary property, offering a range of antique furnishings set upon tiled and wooden floors, yet alongside a satellite TV, stereo and Wi-Fi throughout! On this ground floor, you will find the first fabulous living room, with large sofas and an armchair complementing the fine wooden furniture. Alongside this is your expansive kitchen is the perfect place to gather the group and cook up a storm using some fantastic local produce. Dine at this large breakfast table or else retire to the more formal and scenic dining room, with direct garden access! Heading up the first floor there's a second living room, kitchen and dining room – so guests that enjoy that little extra space will be incredibly well catered for.

The first two bedrooms are located on the ground floor and include a double room with a queen-size bed and one twin room and are accompanied by two shower rooms. Meanwhile, on the first floor, there is a second double room with a queen-size bed and a second twin room, with a final queen-size room on the second floor, with its own private dressing room and shower room. Each bedroom is a unique delight, with elegantly styled wooden bedframes in each, and tons of natural light! The first floor also features a shower room, as spacious and modern as the others, ensuring you waste no time queuing for an invigorating shower each day.

Head out into this wonderful garden to enjoy the highlight of this enchanting home thanks to this immense 10 by 5 metre private pool that stretches the width of this lovely, grassy delight. Vibrant flowers surround it, along with an outdoor shower and elegant garden furniture. If you're keen for a little relaxation, settle into one of these cosy loungers by the pool and soak up the sunshine! For a full day of alfresco delight, fire up the BBQ and enjoy a memorable meal in this stunning natural environment. This fantastic garden and its incredible pool are maintained meticulously by the caretaker every week, so it'll be in tiptop condition for your enjoyment.

Within walking distance of the centre of the quaint town of Barqueiros, just 1 km away, you can enjoy a nata and a natter in a dazzling pavement cafe each morning, just as the locals do.

Nestled in the fabulous rural landscape of northern Portugal, and between so many interesting towns and natural spaces, Villa Perhalis is in the ideal spot to explore the fascinating history and sublime landscape of the region. You can walk to the charming centre of Barqueiros, about 1 km away, with a supermarket within 1km, while the towns of Fao and Esposende are about and 8 and 10km away respectively. The closest sandy beach is about 6km away, in the wonderful Apulia.

The delightful market town of Barcelos is just 15 minutes away, while the stunning historical centre of Viana do Castelo is under half an hour away, where there are even sandy beaches! Meanwhile, the thriving town of Braga, the capital of the district, is about 28km away and hosts many relics of the region's diverse history. With so much on your doorstep, you can visit a new historic and beautiful town every day!

Ponte de Lima, one of Portugal's oldest and most historic towns with a delightful range of shops, bars and restaurants among the ornate squares and cobbled alleyways, and a huge market on the riverbank every other Monday, is under 50km away. The country's only National Park, the mountainous nature reserve of Peneda Geres National Park is also just an hour's drive away and hosts prehistoric remains, walking trails and rugged hills as well as deer, wolves and golden eagles!

Minho is a fantastic, largely rural region on the northernmost Atlantic tip of Portugal, bordering the Spanish region of Galiza, with which it shares many attributes. While Portugal itself is a fascinating country at the most Western point of mainland Europe. With a vast coastline with the powerful Atlantic Ocean, Portugal is a true paradise for the keen surfer, or indeed even those looking to try it for the first time. And for those less keen on surfing, the beaches of Portugal are still well worth a visit for their beautifully clear waters and fine sands.

Other active pursuits include a sublime cycling trip through the undulating and picturesque scenery of Geres, or indeed white-water rafting on the river Douro! For those more into the gentle pace of golf, Portugal is a real haven, with 14 of the world's top 100 best golf courses!
