Villa Nostrano's large and tastefully furnished rooms make the most of the tranquil and scenic location, with most opening onto outside spaces for soaking up the views. The villa boasts four elegant bedrooms; making it a fantastic place for special get-togethers with family or friends. Two of the bedrooms have doors to a balcony terrace for enjoying a morning coffee or romantic drinks under the stars.

With the main focal point of the living space being an impressive fireplace, this room is perfect for cosy evenings on the sofa. Meals can be taken at any one of the indoor and outdoor dining tables, with the terrace just off the kitchen being a lovely spot to soak up the views as you eat. From here, you can also admire the pretty outside space that the villa sits within.

Dine on patio terraces, under a charming gazebo, or by a rustic outdoor kitchen with barbecue and pizza oven. The villa's rambling plot is perfectly for finding hidden corners to relax and breathe in the scents of typical Mediterranean flora, as well as the refreshing sea breeze. The swimming pool and its terrace offer some of the very best panoramic views over the hills, sea and bay.

Stroll through the narrow streets of Sorrento's historic centre to discover traditional pavement cafes and local craft shops. Impressive architecture is around almost every corner; making the town a culture and history-lover's paradise. The surrounding area is also great for adventurous types, with the hills providing exciting hiking trails, as do the nearby Lattari Mountains.

And yet you can be enjoying everything that the heart of Sorrento has to offer in less than 10 minutes after an idyllic drive down into the town.

A network of cobbled streets gives Sorrento a charming and romantic feel, with pavement cafes and a number of shops selling local crafts adding to the laid-back atmosphere. The old town is bursting with beautiful architecture, including the 14th-century church, Chiesa di San Francesco (3km), a bell tower, cathedral and monastery.

Also a lovely place to spend time is one of the town's most famous squares, Piazza Tasso. Stop here to take a break from sightseeing for a spot of lunch and some people watching. You'll never struggle to enjoy a delicious meal in Sorrento, with marina-side restaurants serving fresh seafood.

The town's shoreline is rocky and dramatic, with platforms beneath the cliffs giving you access to the sea. For a great choice of sandy beaches, drive to the Amalfi Coast in around 90 minutes. For more adventurous days out, go hiking in the Lattari Mountains (20km).

Sorrento's train station is around a 20-minute walk away from the villa. So, leave the car behind and let the train take you to places such as Naples and Pompeii. If you do drive there, Pompeii (28km) can be reached in an hour, with the journey to Naples (51km) taking around 75 minutes. The famous ruins of Pompeii are ideal for a fun family day out, as is Mount Vesuvius with its dramatic views and walks.
