Description

Originally a monastery right back at the start of the sixteenth century, Villa Calasso went on to become the summer residence for the friars of Monte Oliveto Maggiore. Located in amongst the rolling hills of Siena, Villa Calasso has incredible views across the valley, best enjoyed poolside with a drink in hand!
The property has been beautifully renovated while retaining its original features with beautiful stone floors and curved ceilings. Divided into three apartments the villa offers groups travelling together privacy and plenty of space. Each apartment has its own kitchen and access to the landscaped garden and pool area.
The swimming pool boasts breathtaking panoramic views and is well-equipped with chic sun beds. An al fresco dining area is the perfect spot for socialising where you can get the BBQ blazing and enjoy some fresh local produce.

Situated in tranquil Radicofani the picturesque surroundings makes for a truly relaxing holiday - but there's plenty of activities in the immediate area to keep the entire family entertained.
3 km down the road is the ancient castle of Radicofani, dating back to the dark ages -before year 1000! A tower in the town offers magnificent views over Val d'Orcia, Amiata, the Apennines and the Trasimeno and Bolsena lakes and San Pietro and Sant'Agata Church house an amazing collection of Della Robbia terracotta pieces.
Hikers, horse riders, cyclists and nature lovers will find trails and country roads that wind through hillsides and vineyards revealing breathtaking vistas. There are also plenty of fabulous dining options, craft workshops and traditional delicatessens close to the property.
15 minutes down the road are the hot springs of San Casciano Bagni, Bagno Vignoni and Bagni San Filippo andTrasimeno Lake is an hours drive and offers a variety of water sports.
In the nearby towns of Chiusi, Montepulciano, Pienza, Cortona, Perugia, Arezzo, Orvieto and Siena, history has left treasures from the time of Etruscans to the Reanaissance. And Florence and Rome are easy day trips from the property.
