#### Location
This villa is beautifully located in Krnica, close to Istria's capital, Pula. The landscape is wild and natural, with panoramic clifftop lookouts and ridges soaring high above the glittering sea. The villa is a short drive away from the beach of Luka Krnica and close to the Glavani Park, an adventure centre with activities for the whole family. Krnica itself is home to the well-known bell tower of St. Rocco.
Glavani Park has daring high ropes courses with a range of heights and unicycle riding to try. There is a zip line of 113 metres, where you can soar through the treetops and cross the Devil's Causeway suspension bridge. It's not all about the daredevils though, as you can also go on scenic walks through the countryside, visiting the farm animals that call it home.
The villa is close to Pula, the Istrian capital, which is brimming over with history, culture and Roman mythology. There's a famous colosseum here that was built in the 1st century AD. It now hosts concerts, theatre and events, but in the days of the Romans it was home to gladiator fights. In the summer months, there are re-enactments of these. There are lots of carnivals in Pula, so check online for these during your visit! Another sight to see is the Temple of Augustus, built to honour the emperor of the same name. Beautiful and located in the main square, the temple is free to visit.
Istria as an area has a strong Italian influence, as it is just two hours from Venice. It also has plenty of relics and architecture left over from the Roman era, especially in Pula. It's easy to hop across the border to Italy and spend a day exploring and indulging in Italian food. Istria's heart-shaped coastline is gorgeous, with endless beaches on offer.
The beaches around the villa are made up of white shingle, with stunning crystalline waters popular with divers. Luka Krnica beach is an unspoilt, wild beach just 3km from the villa. You will find many gorgeous beaches a short drive away, such as Girandella beach. This family-friendly beach is surrounded by pine trees - guests can indulge in watersports here including water-skiing. This beach is close to a resort of the same name.
Take a day trip to Brijuni National Park, an archipelago of 14 small islands that can be reached by boat from Pula. The islands are famous for their natural beauty and indigenous flora and fauna. Enjoy a boat ride with views of the southwestern peninsula before you reach the islands. There are dinosaur footprints in four areas on the largest island, Viliki Brijuni, and many other archaeological wonders.
Istria is well known for its tasty cuisine and fresh ingredients, like wild asparagus and chestnuts. In Krnica, guests can visit an olive oil farm that has been run by four generations of the same family. The region produces delicious extra virgin olive oil. Brist grows their olive oil overlooking the Brijuni archepilago. Take a tour and sample some varieties to take home with you.
Vineyard tours are also a popular activity throughout Istria. Many vineyards that offer tours with the opportunity to try a glass of local Refosk or Malvazija. Admire the views of rolling hills and rows of grapes as you enjoy your wine.
