Description

Galera Cottage is an old grape picking house, part of Quinta de Nossa Senhora de Monserrate, where wine was produced until a few years ago. With the end of wine production, the family remodeled the space, making it a welcoming and modern home, ideal for a relaxing and refreshing holiday. The house is located in one of the most noble and beautiful areas of the island, Caloura. Our guests, in addition to the proximity of the sea and a fabulous view of the coast, can visit the chapel of Nossa Senhora de Monserrate, located inside the property, known for the beautiful 17th century tiles that adorn it. Galera Cottage stands out for its simple lines and the use of materials typical of the Azores, such as traditional farming stone, wooden beams and regional tiles. Some artifacts related to the vine and wine were also used in interior and exterior decoration.
Here, the past merges with the present and our guests are invited to spend a few days in a house with history, but completely renovated, so that they can enjoy the necessary comfort for a relaxing holiday in a paradisiacal place, such as Caloura . The kitchen and the living room operate in an “open space” style. The kitchen is equipped with all utensils, oven / microwave and ceramic hob. In turn, the living room has a table for four, a double sofa bed and a television. Between the living room and the bedroom is the bathroom. The bedroom consists of two single beds, nightstand, closet and dresser. The whole house is well lit and surrounded by windows that provide a fantastic view of the sea and the garden. Outside, guests can enjoy a garden and a viewpoint, ideal for contemplating the Azorean sea and experiencing the tranquility of the Caloura nights, while enjoying a bottle of wine.
