Description

High in the hills of the Serra D'Arga mountain range, Villa Anisa offers a luxurious stay for up to eight guests with exquisite views of the surrounding landscape.
The exterior is designed to reflect the rustic countryside feel as much as possible, with beautiful old stones and terracotta tiled roofs. The stone archways echo the deeply historical character of the region. Within, the open plan living area feels simultaneously traditionally charming, and modern and luxurious. Two comfortable sofas sit in front of the fireplace and Satellite TV. Around the corner is the fabulous modern, fitted kitchen, equipped with an oven, four hobs, microwave, double sink and everything you could need to prepare a feast! A dining table with space for up to eight sits between the living area and the kitchen. The cottage also has a small kitchenette perfect for preparing light meals.
There are four delightful bedrooms, two doubles and two twins, all with elaborate bedframes, wonderful colours and plenty of natural light. The two on the first-floor have the same vaulted ceiling as the common areas, while the double room on the ground-floor enjoys direct garden access. The fourth bedroom is found in the adjoining cottage. All four room have fabulous ensuite shower rooms which are bright and modern. There is also a guest WC on the same floor as the main living areas.
A day spent in the garden is the most delightful way to enjoy the unspoilt natural landscape of Minho. Okay, a trip to the Peneda Geres National Park (just half an hour away!) might be better, but this is a close second! Paddle in your private pool, relax on a sun lounger or else sip a glass of wine on the terrace while enjoying a BBQ in the late afternoon warmth, and marvel at the rolling hills in the distance, punctuated by the occasional terracotta roof or church spire. The sights and sounds of the countryside are all that will disturb your daydreaming.

#### Location
Nestled in the fabulous rural landscape of Minho, the nearest village to Villa Anisa is around 4km away, where you will find small shops and cafes. Located between so many interesting towns and natural spaces, Villa Anisa is in the ideal spot to explore the fascinating history of the region, as well as the sublime landscape. The delightful market town of Barcelos is just a 30-minute drive away, while the stunning historical centre of Viana do Castelo is just 25 minutes west, where there are even sandy beaches! The country's only National Park, the mountainous nature reserve of Peneda Geres National Park is 35 minutes east, and hosts prehistoric remains, walking trails and rugged hills as well as deer, wolves and golden eagles!
Ponte de Lima, one of Portugal's oldest and most historic towns with a delightful range of shops, bars and restaurants among the ornate squares and cobbled alleyways is just 15 minutes away. While the town of Braga, the capital of the district, is about 40 minutes away and hosts many relics of the region's diverse history. With so much on your doorstep, you can visit a new historical and beautiful town every day!
Minho is a fantastic, largely rural region on the northernmost Atlantic tip of Portugal, bordering the Spanish region of Galiza, with which it shares many attributes. Minho is perhaps most famous as the home of the Vinho Verde, a crisp, dry white wine (although as the name suggests, it is in fact green!) best enjoyed with a local fish dish.
Portugal itself is a small, fascinating country at the most Western point of mainland Europe. The capital, Lisbon, is known for its lively nightlife, with endless bars and clubs full of fun-loving locals and tourists alike, but also has plenty of fascinating history (check out Belem, jam-packed with monuments!) and undulating terrain, famously termed the ‘city of the seven hills'. From Lisbon, it is very quick to travel by the domestic high-speed train line to the city of Braga, which will connect you fairly quickly to Villa Anisa.
With a vast coastline with the powerful Atlantic Ocean, Portugal is a true paradise for the keen surfer, or indeed even those looking to try if for the first time. And for those less keen on surfing, the beaches of Portugal are still well worth a visit for their beautifully clear waters and fine sands.
