Description

Welcome to Burdys Nest in the gorgeous Bay of Islands.

Our property is set in a rural location located 20 minutes north of Kerikeri, with 2 acres of gardens, fruit orchard, chicken run & a large grass paddock. The bach is a converted studio located at the back of Richards sail loft with its own private, fully fenced garden – perfect for your pooch to hang out in.

Here are a few basics about Burdys Nest to tempt you to visit us!

• 1 bedroom, private self-contained bach with a large deck and fully fenced enclosed garden. Stunning view over the valley through to Bay of Islands in the distance.

• Comfortably appointed, providing everything you need for your holiday – just bring your own food & you are set to go. We provide all cotton linen, towels, fully-equiped kitchen with microwave, bench top oven & 2 burner stove top, fridge with small freezer, BBQ, outside & inside dining, loungers, TV with free view & a chrome cask, there is a good selection of DVDs and a library of reading books & magazines for guests to enjoy., I-pod / CD stereo, cosy lounge area, ensuite with shower.

• Free WIFI for guests to check their emails or research the next day’s adventure.

• A house-trained, well behaved dog is welcome to the bach & we hope our labrador Paige makes a new best friend. We ask you to bring their own bed with you and to let us know when booking that you are bringing your 4 legged friend with you.

• We have deliberately not charged any extra fees - eg cleaning as we feel this is like going to a restaurant & ordering a steak - then having to pay for the chips / salad / vegetables. We just ask each of our guests to leave the bach as they found it.

Winter is a great time to visit the ‘Winterless North’. The weather over winter in the north can be gorgeous, with warm t-shirt wearing days and cooler cosy nights. With the heat pump to warm up the bach on those winter nights, we are a perfect place for a winter break.

If you haven’t been up this way before, here is a little bit about the area. The Bay of Islands includes the towns of Kerikeri, Paihia, Opua and Russell. Kerikeri itself is a bustling town with a great selection of cafes & restaurants (at last count there was 27 places where you could a cup of coffee from!). We have 2 large supermarkets, the Packhouse Market on Saturdays, a cinema, a theatre & some fantastic boutique shops. We have just about everything covered for what you would need for a great holiday.

We have some of the best beaches for walking, surfing & fishing in the local area, with Matauri Bay 20 minutes north and Paihia Beach 35 minutes south. We are a great location as a base for your exploration for all the Far North has to offer including Cape Reinga, Karikari Penninsula, Mangonui & Coppers Beach, The Hokianga & Russell.

We hope we can welcome you up to our slice of paradise in the not to distant future.
