Description
Don Francisco Domínguez de Ocampo arrived in New Spain in 1582 to demarcate all the colonized lands, as a Cosmographer of S.M. Felipe II king of Spain. Here in the new continent received three Mercedes of land - in the present State of Mexico - founding the Hacienda San Jose de Buenavista the Great, by certificate of the Viceroy Conde de la Coruña, being thus a Treasury of work and minor livestock.
Over the centuries, Hacienda Buenavista has had several heirs and owners. Among others, it belonged to the Hospital of San Hipólito, to the Viceroy Marquess of the Wonders, and its recent History - from century XIX - has belonged to the Icaza Family until the present day.
