Description

This quaint 2-bedroom board and baton cottage is located in Clova Bay, Manaroa, deep in the heart of the Pelorus Sound. Just metres away from the water and with breath-taking sea and mountain views, it's the perfect get-away for four.

If fishing, swimming, walking, or just pure relaxation in paradise is what you're looking for, this is 'your' place. If it's nature, peace and quiet environment, it's also 'your' place.

The home is fully self-contained, comfortable, with a simple cottage-like atmosphere. Nothing fancy, just easy-clean with simple grounds and a view that will blow your socks off!! Private Internet (limited - not suitable for streaming movies etc) and Digital TV are available. Dependent on mobile, phone reception is outside or on the sea-shore.

A registered boat mooring is offered, and 200 metres down the road, there is a boat launching jetty. Shore fishing is pretty good, fishing from kayaks or boats excellent! Signature catches - snapper, gurnard and blue cod, but there are plenty of other varieties. (Great bait fishing for children on the jetty). Clova Bay is a 30-40 minute boat trip (140hp) up and into the outer Pelorus Reach and to the outer coast and Cook Strait where scuba diving and its rewards are plentiful. Also the access to hapuka beds.

So - if you're looking for activity, yet adore peace and quiet, this area of outstanding natural beauty (made up of indented coastline, consisting of a series of narrow rivers and valleys that were submerged in the Ice Age due to the sea level rising 140 metres) is where you want to be. The area is considered remote with few people, but in school and on public holidays, can be considered semi-remote

No dogs due to weka, bird life and shore birds. No extra people/tents etc.

Remember - 1.5 hours from the last fuel stop. 2.0 windy hours from Havelock and 2.5 hours from Blenheim. There are no shops. A great middle-way stopover is the Portage Hotel. Coffee, bar meals and restaurant. For another treat - there's Pong Cove with fine-dining and/or cafe 45 minutes drive from the home.

Due to distance from amentities, your host Marion will be available (next door) for any enquiries, help and for emergencies.
