Description

Breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the view of Bear Mountain ski slopes while enjoying your morning coffee outside on the deck among the pines or inside curled up on the cozy couch by the fire!

The Bearfoot Pines Chalet is nestled in the Moonridge neighborhood among the breathtaking pine trees. Moonridge seems to have it all. The Chalet is walking distance to the zoo, Bear Mountain Shuttle stops, Moonridge Coffee, and Dank Donuts. Technically, you can also walk to Bear Mountain and the golf course through a 15 minute walk with clubs is cumbersome. We are 10 minutes to the lake and 15 to the Village. It really is the perfect location and one of the few areas in Big Bear where the topography can turn a casual walk into a highlight with breathtaking views of the lake.

THE SPACE:
As you walk up the stairs from the driveway, you'll notice a small bench by the door and chairs set up on the far end of the deck to enjoy the beautiful view of the ski slopes. You'll enter the chalet and immediately notice the brand new kitchen with quartz counters and new custom cabinets. The appliances are all new and touch activated. The kitchen is well appointed with more than you'll ever need for an evening meal or a holiday feast. There is even dishware just for dining among the pines! A coffee pot with sugar, sugar alternatives, cream, and tea sit on one corner of the counter. A bar height counter with stools is perfectly situated to stay in the conversation even if you aren’t the one cooking.

Walking into the living room, you'll instantly notice the natural light that illuminates the cabin. A large sectional with chaise lounge is situated perfectly to stare out into the pines, enjoy the crackling fire in the baby blue Swedish fireplace, or watch a movie on the 42" Roku TV (Netflix, Hulu, and Prime).

Follow the hallway behind the fireplace you'll head toward the master bedroom and one of the bathrooms. The master bedroom has queen sized bed with very comfortable mattress that is not too soft or too firm. Nightstands border the bed and sconce dimmable lights are mounted just above the nightstands on each side of the bed to make it easy to catch up on that favorite book just before bedtime. Silver branch curtains provide privacy, but also allow one to take in the beauty in the pine trees outside. Across from the bed, you'll find a built-in armoire and a sink! Who knew how handy a sink in the bedroom would be, but it is quite nice. There is also plenty of counterspace.

Walk back out to the living room and turn left to find built in bunk beds (with new mattresses, a built-in closet with drawers and the dining table (expected to arrive late November) with a built-in bench under the window.

The sliding glass door to the backyard provides a large looking glass to the back where you will see trees and a great deal of opportunity to relax! You'll notice that you don't see any back neighbors. The yard is fully fenced and quite large and full of pine trees and shrubs. The sprawling three tier deck is perfect for morning yoga! The deck boasts a built-in bench, which is perfect to watch someone bbq on the weber grill and an outdoor dining table that can be enjoyed for meal time or just to relax after a busy day out.

Head back inside and down the spiral staircase, yes, spiral into the second bedroom or what I like to think of as the land of opportunity! You may have noticed the second front door as you walked up the stairs. When snowing, I encourage you to enter through this door to avoid using those slippery steps. You'll notice you are able to prop open the door in the summer months for a beautiful breeze or in the winter utilize the built-in coat handing rack and bench to get those boots off.

Here you'll find a surprisingly comfortable pull-out couch with queen sized pillow top mattress. We choose this for the versatility - enjoy the second TV/game room vibe or sleep. There is also a 9ft shuffleboard table and a round game table with a cabinet full of board games. An Alexa Echo Show hangs on the wall to provide music on demand and if you need to do some laundry after a long day on the slopes, they are here as well. The second bathroom is at the end of the room and offers a shower. We are still decorating here, but it has the basics!
