Description

The spacious property is divided into 3 levels. The top floor is at street level and is the self catering unit with its own private entrance. We live in the middle section and the cozy self-catering garden cottage is at the bottom on the ground level. Guests access the cottage via stairs. Queen size bed and en-suite bathroom. The room has a microwave and mini kitche.
The house is north facing, set the mountainside above the charming seaside village of Gordon's Bay. The beach is 5 minutes drive away and within walking distance. Gordon's Bay is a picturesque coastal village, nestled at the foot of the Hottentots Holland Mountains and the False Bay Coast. The village is situated only a few minutes away from Somerset West and Strand and only 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. The central location of Gordon's Bay will enable you to reach The V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, The wine route of Stellenbosch and travel on the whale route to reach Hermanus in any direction all within an hours drive. A great place to base yourself while exploring the Cape. The beachfront promenade is lined with popular restaurants and pups and you really get a feeling of going back in time when visiting the old village. If you follow the Beach Road through Gordon's Bay past the harbor, you get on to one to the most beautiful coastal drives in the world. The R44 (Clarence Drive) towards Kleinmond and Hermanus which winds along a breathtaking beautiful coastline. Kogelbaai begins behind the mouth of the Steenbras river. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Cape where surfing is very attractive. Stop off at the Harold Porter Botanical Garden in Kleinmond and the African penguine Colony at Betty's Bay on your way to Hermanus. The Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Helderberg and Elgin Wine Routes are all within a 40 minutes drive from Gordan's Bay. This is a place that you can partake in many activities, the Golf estates are Internationally acclaimed. The bay is very tranquil and you could hire Kayaks and stand up paddle boards or go on a boat trip from the harbor. If you travel a bit further to Strand and Koggel Baai yo will find great surfing conditions and relatively uncrowded. Oh, I didn't mention that the water is very warm in Fals Bay as this is the Indian Ocean.
