Description

Beach's Bottom is a secluded river front property. To reach the serenity of our property you will travel a scenic 6 mile gravel road through the George Washington National Forest, cross over Indian Grave Ridge, with views of the river, rock walls, cow pastures and mountains. At the house you will feel right at home, there are chairs for front and back porch sitting, a chimnea on the deck, a fire pit in the yard and down by the river. You can see and hear the river rolling by from the deck. Walk the slopping hill or drive down to the river via the access road. The property has rock ledges throughout. Wildlife galore! Watch the sun set behind the mountain. For a quick lunch by the river, enjoy the charcoal grill and cook up some burgers and dogs. Walk right down to the river and sit by the river's edge. The river bottom is good here, wade in a few feet, cross to the other side, walk down or up river to see the rock formations and tons of wildlife and of course take a swim, float in a tube, or put a chair right in the river. You can put the canoes or tubes in at river mile marker 19 which is only 2.6 miles from the house. The fishing is also good at the house with small mouth bass and catfish. The drive to the town of Luray is between 30 to 40 minutes, so take all you need!

If a summer shower or storm comes up we have plenty inside to keep the fun going with puzzle books, board games, card games, movies and TV series for all ages. There are cookbooks, wildlife books, magazines and some novels. Relax in the 16x16 screened-in-porch and watch the rain pour down. Designed for relaxation, sit back on the 3 piece casual seating set or dine on the 5 pc dining set.

How about a little romance? Play some romantic music, throw a blanket on the deck, open a bottle of wine, serve some cheese and fruit and bask in each others warmth. The glow of the full moon will add to your romantic evening wrapped in love's embrace. How about going down to the river, throwing a blanket down, start a campfire, then lay back and wish upon a shooting star. You have never seen so many stars, all there to make your evening special.

Take a lazy walk down Page Valley Rd; spot deer, birds, ground hogs, turkeys, fox, raccoons, squirrels, turtles in the river and listen to the quiet. If you walk all the way to the end of the road, almost to Overall, maybe you will see the train travel over the trestle. You can also see the train from the river bank at Beachs Bottom. If you want; go to town for a romantic dinner, then return and just enjoy the evening by the campfire or sit on the deck and listen to the river roll by.

Rates are based on 4 person occupancy, additional guests are $25.00 per guest per day. Pets are welcome and are charged $40.00 per pet for the length of your stay. Please don't allow your pets on the furniture unless you have a blanket from home for them to lay on.
