Now for our description; Coconut Cottage is an affordable rental located in Hatchet Bay in the central part of the island not far from many of the island's great attractions. We have other rentals right in this area and most people love the location and state it was very convenient to a lot of fun stuff to do heading both north and south. The cottage itslef has lovely garden views tucked among a small grove of mature coconut palms with a boardwalk leading to a an elevated deck with wonderful ocean views. The deck has chaise lounges and that is where most people hang out during their stay! Coconut Cottage is truly a hidden gem, with a local vibe, on a large private fenced in lot.

Along with that privacy you can still easily walk to two local in town beaches, a couple of local bars, some great restaurants and the town grocery store. "Front Porch Seafood Restaurant" is ranked the 3rd best eatery on the entire island and "Da Spot Bar" is another island favorite per TripAdvisor and both are a short walk from the cottage. There is also Twin Brothers Seafood Restaurant which makes yummy cracked conch at a great local price. They also make tasty frozen drinks, with or without alcohol, made from exotic fresh grown island fruits. Both locals and tourists alike drive from all over the island for the frozen drinks! Tell Danny the smiley faced bartender Cecil Junior sent you over. The world famous Rainbow Inn is the #2 rated best restaurant on the island and is just 3 minutes by car. There arenumerous spectacular local beaches all between 3 minutes and 10 minutes drive. They are; Hidden Beach, Rainbow Beach, Smugglers Beach, Surfer's Beach, Twin Sister's Beach and Gaulding Cay Beach. There are also tons of local attractions in this end of the island such as the Queen's Baths, Sapphire Blue Hole, Glass Window Bridge, Hatchet Bay Caves, the Cliff's of Rainbow Bay to name a few.

The property is nicely landscaped and filled with mature vegetation such as; Coconut Palms, fruit trees and Hibiscus bushes. The older original classic Bahamian cottage was completely gutted and redone in 2018 by the owner, one of the very top builders in Eleuthera. It was transformed from a traditional Bahamian style small house into the perfect cute little tropical vacation getaway with air conditioning. It is an open style cottage with a flowing and peaceful design. There is a nice hand made wooden bedframe with a comfy queen bed, small living room with a love seat fouton sleeper along with FREE cable TV and FREE Wi-Fi. There is a full kitchen with a microwave, range/oven and a full size fridge/freezer along with a toaster, coffee maker, wine glasses, kitchen utensils, plates, bowls, etc. Basically everything you need to cook in house. There is a large bright full bath with a custom tile walk in shower. There is a small dining table and 2 chairs inside as well. Local tropical island art painted by well known artist Daniel Caldwell adorns the walls, along with a nice decor to complete the space. The cottage is quiet and cozy with nice floors and many windows for lots of natural light. There is a fabulous elevated deck that allows for amazing sunrises and sunsets. There is an outside grill for grilling your fresh fish and lobster along with beach chairs for your exploration to the never ending empty beaches. Lastly, there is also an outside shower.

If Miami Beach or Las Vegas is your thing we suggest you pick a different rental as this is a non-touristy local Bahamian experience. If you want to avoid tourist traps and are the type of traveler that loves to find the beauty of emersing yourself into the local culture of a safe and friendly town in a great island location, this is your place! Most of our guests love the the town culture and the warm smiles of the residents of Hatchet Bay.
