The locality of Canon is one of the many small villages that follow one another and make up the Cap Ferret peninsula. Just a few minutes from the tip, the place is really nice, and often less crowded than the center. The prettiest and most typical part is probably the port and its original and colorful oyster tastings, at the water's edge, as well as the fishing village district. The cabins are adorable, and the visit often has surprises in store: funny decorations, cat at the bend of a path, two abandoned horses ... In the more urbanized part, we find all the useful small shops, and especially the big market place, which takes place every week. A pretty nature reserve, opposite the port, is also worth a detour: many species of animals are listed, and the walk is pleasant and refreshing on hot days.
