There is plenty to do in the Charente-Maritime, and it is less than a 45 minute drive to beaches, Fouras, the quaint harbours of La Rochelle, Rochefort and Royan, and the ferry to the Ile d'Aix. St. Jean d'Angély is home to the 'Atlantis' aqua centre that children will adore as well as canoeing, kayaking and water polo.
