Excursion tips: Visit Himera (7 km), one of the most flourishing Greek cities in Sicily and the scene of great historical events. Remains of some of the city's quarters can still be seen today, as well as the Temple of Victory or other archaeological finds in the area.
In the Madonie Nature Park, 40,000 hectares of pure nature await you, of which 15,000 hectares are forest alone. Among them, more than half of the Sicilian plant varieties are represented. This is why the nature park is also called Sicily's "green lung".
We also recommend a trip to the beautiful capital of Sicily, Palermo (55 km), the fifth largest city in Italy. The cityscape is characterised by impressive ruling houses with fascinating contrasts. Both historical and artistic sights await you. In the city centre you can stroll between the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings and walk through numerous beautiful boutiques and palazzi with inviting cafés.
