Description

Enjoy, during any season, the tranquillity of this beautiful holiday home, with private pool, on the edge of the village of Prades-sur-Vernazobre, in Languedoc. Ideally located just half an hour away from Beziers and the beach. Come enjoy a glass of Saint-Chinian on the covered terrace, a listed wine is produced just 5km away. From the terrace you will be able to sip your wine whilst marvelling at the gorgeous view. You will be able to make a splash in the pool (heated on request and for a fee), enjoy air-conditioned rooms and surf the internet with the free Wi-Fi in the beautiful living room. In the cooler seasons you will be able to keep warm with the wood stove. With its large private lot and ample parking, this villa is an excellent starting point for your hikes or bike rides through the resplendent landscapes of this rich region, near the Canal du Midi. The house’s position means that you will be sheltered from the wind, you will be able to dine alfresco, by the stone barbecue and make the most of the sun. There are a few steps that lead to the pool area. All the necessary equipment is available, should you be travelling with a baby (bed, chair, park and stroller). Visit Prades during you stay, a charming village with a population of 250, located 5km from Saint-Chinian. At 11km, the pretty village of Roquebrun offers the shores of the Orb river, at the entrance of the Natural Park of Haut Languedoc, lined with orange trees, pomegranates and many pines trees. Here you will be able to have a go at kayaking or canoeing, or you can simply stroll along the river. You will find it very pleasant and relaxing to swim on the small pebble beach located below the bridge overlooking the beautiful village. Other charming villages await you nearby, because the department of Herault, on the shores of the Mediterranean, is full of wonders and cities that deserve to be visited, such as Pézenas, Agde and Sète. The stunning city Béziers is a place well worth visiting, it contains many sites of interest: among them, the ‘Plateau des Poètes’, a garden dating from the late nineteenth century. A haven of lush verdure that connects the Paul Riquet lanes and the train station. It is a unique place to take a breather or have fun in the heart of the city and where you can enjoy the "Refuge for birds free". The Place de la Madeleine, in the heart of the old historic centre of the city, is just steps from the magnificent town hall built in 1729, a beautiful "Belle-Epoque" building which houses a market with the charm of yesteryear. The market offers delicious fresh local produce. Finish with a detour to the Place de la Révolution, behind the Cathedral of Saint Nazare, located at the top of a small hill on the banks of the river Orb, a fine example of French Gothic style. This enchanting little square then descends towards the Paul Ricard road, a lively boulevard which is the commercial heart of the city, with many restaurants, where you can taste delicious local dishes. Obviously, no holiday would be complete without discovering the Canal du Midi, a waterway listed by UNESCO, dotted with technical works such as the 9 locks of Fonseranes, aqueducts called "Pont Canal" (Canal bridge), where the river passes under the Canal, allowing barges to navigate. By bike, on foot or on board a rental boat, lots of beautiful excursions are possible along the rivers.
