Description

La Ferme is a spacious, lovingly restored farmhouse. It has a large kitchen complete with dish washer, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, and a gas cooker with hob. There is also a large dining room with dining table that comfortably seats 6. There is a comfortable 3 piece suite, real fire and a t.v complete with DVD player. There are 2 double bedrooms. The spacious master bedroom also has a set of bunk beds and can therefore comfortably sleep 4. The second double room also has a single bed and can can sleep 3 comfortably. There is a spacious bathroom with shower.

La Ferme overlooks the village and has a beautiful view of the large outdoor swimming pool which is shared with 2 other gites.

The area is rich in Roman art with historic churches, villages and towns. Cognac, Angouleme, Saintes and Bordeaux are all within easy reach. There are excellent restaurants in the vicinity as well as well as a number of markets.


Location: The property is ideally situated for a wide range of leisure activities and site-seeing opportunities, but also for a family holiday, with beaches and other facilities within easy reach. The gite is around 40 mins from beautiful beaches, including the lovely Royan. La Rochelle, is unmissable for shopping, dining and visiting the state of the art Aquarium. The area is rich in Roman art with historic churches, villages and towns. Cognac, home to the famous cognac houses of Martell, Hennessy and Reme Martin, as well as an 18 hole golf course and boating, is in easy reach. Angouleme the major town of Charente is only 45 minutes away. Saintes is about 30 minutes away and offers plenty of culture for the beach weary, boasting Roman remains and an amphitheatre. There’s also the opportunity of riverside lunches and boat trips. Bordeaux is within easy reach (90mins) and there are several beautiful islands to see, including the picture postcard Isle De Re (110mins).
