Before trekking up to the abandoned village of Occi with its breathtaking scenery, start out in nearby Lumio, a typical village great for a coffee on a café terrace.
Calvi, which is only 8 km away, is a real treat, whether you want to have lunch in a charming restaurant, explore the city's 13th-century fortress, or take a boat ride to the amazing Scandola Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Then there are the quaint towns dotted across the alluring sceneries of this area, such as Monticello and Sant'Antonino, which is one of France's designated "Plus Beaux Villages."
The gorgeous beaches in this location are, of course, one of its main attractions.
