Casa Sollabelle is located in the private/gated area of the Hacienda San Jose Chakan, conveniently located between Chicxulub Beach and the beautiful city of Merida, la Ciudad Blanca.
The location of Casa Sollabelle and its private setting offers you everything you could desire in a vacation experience, blending privacy and tranquility along with a proximity to all that matters in Yucatan. We are close enough to the beach or to Merida (about 20 minutes driving either way) to enjoy either one on a whim but far enough to have the luxury of nature, space, beauty, and calm… With the occasional welcome sounds of donkeys, geese, ducks, or peacocks nearby.

The Space:
Featuring three bedrooms, (the third bedroom is a typical Mayan casita with a thatched roof or Palapa by its Mexican name), four full baths, a spectacular pool meant for swimming not just bathing, a Thai bed for your siesta and a beautifully functional kitchen, the house also boasts a relaxing outdoor area with a gas grill, a well-maintained garden, and a large, covered terrace to relax.

The master bedroom has a King Size bed and also its own private terrace outfitted with loungers and a table to enjoy a morning tea or coffee Al Fresco, while listening to the sounds of the birds. Both guest rooms have two single beds that can be combined as a king bed.

All the rooms (bedrooms, family, living) are equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans. There is a washer and dryer in the laundry room, a dishwasher in the kitchen, which is a rare finding in Yucatán.

Your stay will include several services: gardening and pool service are provided on a weekly basis. Housekeeping may also be contracted with direct payment to our maid. As far as entertainment goes, we have a pétanque (bocce ball) court and enough space in the backyard to play around. The pool also offers an area (2 meters x 4 meters) only 40 cm deep, ideal for cooling off with a drink (plastic glass only please) or reading and fun for our smaller guests to play in. The smart TV will give you access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, You Tube.

Guests have a daily allowance of 20 kWh of electricity, this should cover your entire use. The extra electric consumption shall be paid in conformity with the electric meter readings.

Guest Access:
There will be some locked closets with personal stuff of the Owners, as well as their office room and garage. No personal stuff of the Owners for long term rentals, staring the Spring of 2022.

Getting Around:
You will need to rent a car, which will help you explore more of the beautiful Coast of the Gulf of Mexico, between Sisal and Celestun to West and Progreso, Chicxulub Puerto, San Benito, San Crisanto to Rio Lagartos to the East, all these areas being famous for the stunningly beautiful flamingos, the mangroves with crocodiles, Las Coloradas, but also Ruta Puuc with famous Mayan Ruins.

There are only 20 minutes drive to the gorgeous La Isla Shopping Mall, one of the largest in México, and less than 30 minutes drive to The Harbor, another famous and huge Shopping Mall in Mérida.

***Because many people ask***:
1. Payment- You “submit a booking” which means you pay the full amount now. We do not get paid until after your arrival. There are no cash transactions, and unfortunately you may not put down a deposit.

2. Deposit - Airbnb does not charge the deposit at all unless there is a claim for damages after check-out.

3. Unfortunately, we don’t have more pictures of the house and are unable to send you any more.

4. The site blocks telephone numbers until you have booked your trip, so we are unable to call you.

5. ***Electricity costs are extremely high in Mexico. Any consumption above the 20kWh per day included in the rent you paid, will be charged at a rate of 3 pesos (about 16 US$ cents) per kWh, according to the meter readings at your check-in and check-out. Turning off the air conditioners when out enjoying the outdoors is usually enough to stay within a very reasonable and cheap consumption.***
