Located on a quiet stretch of Cascade Beach Road, halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais, Cedarwood sits along the boundary of Cascade State Park. This authentic timber-frame chalet has been completely renovated to retain all of its original charm of a bygone era, while updated with all the modern amenities — including a 48" Italian pro-style gas range in the kitchen. Offering an abundantly spacious layout, the Great Room is home to a wood-burning fireplace, dining table, game table, and picture windows so close to the Big Lake that its waves practically lap at your toes. The master bedroom has a king bed overlooking the water, allowing guests to fall asleep to the soothing sound of the gentle lapping of waves. The 2 full bathrooms are outfitted in spa-like fashion, with oversized deep-soaker tubs. With the 2nd and 3rd loft bedrooms, one outfitted with a king bed, the other with a queen — and a sleeper-sofa in a private corner of the loft — Cedarwood can comfortably sleep 8 adults.

Hundreds of miles of Sawtooth Mountains trails (hiking in the summer, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter), are accessible right out the front door of the cabin. Cascade Lodge & Restaurant is an easy 1 mile walk and features great food, drinks, and frequent live music. A trail leading to Cascade Falls is within 1/4 mile from Cedarwood's door! And within a 30 minute drive, everything for which the North Shore is known is accessible... world-class hiking, fishing, kayaking, biking trails, skiing, galleries, restaurants, NorthHouse Folk School, and a vibrant live music scene. After all, Painted Rock sits in the heart of Cook County and Grand Marais — which was recently named the "Coolest Small Town in America"!
