Welcome to the Fruit Loop Retreat featuring our "Rock Garden Cottage", a newly remodeled cottage one of two cottages on property nestled in 7 acres of woods in Bayfield, Wisconsin. The property is surrounded by pine trees and nature where you can savor a peaceful and quiet northwoods experience but still just minutes from several attractions and historic downtown Bayfield and the south shore of Lake Superior.

The property is conveniently located just 6 minutes' drive or 2.5 miles from the center of downtown Bayfield. So you can have the privacy of being in the north woods but convenience to local attractions and downtown Bayfield. Located right on county Hwy J, a starting point for a self-guided tour around the city of Bayfield where an exploration of local food culture begins of several family apple orchards, fruit farms, and wineries, called the Bayfield fruit loop, and the origin of our property name.

County Hwy J right out of our driveway also allows access for ATV & snowmobiles to get to many of the local routes and surrounding trails. Enjoy exploring Lake Superiors south shore with various hiking trails, mountain biking, public beaches and state parks, a Ferry trip to Madeline Island by foot of car. See the Apostle Islands sea caves through kayaking or guided cruises offered out of Bayfield (seasonal) there is so much to explore.

Our Rock Garden cottage begins with a view of our rock garden as you drive up, a beautiful perennial garden, as well as an outdoor firepit surrounded by cedar chips and solar lit tiki torches. As you enter the 2-level cottage the main level bedroom has two queen beds comfortably sleeps (4). Up the stairs the 2nd level offers a large walk in closet, spacious bathroom with granite countertops, a large walk-in Italian marble shower with complimentary toiletries, heat fan and towel warmer, great in the cooler months. Two windows show a view overlooking the rock garden. On the other half of the 2nd floor there is an open layout kitchen- living room with high ceilings, electric fireplace perfect to get cozy in front of, futon that converts down to make a full bed, and large 3-window view of the woods brings in a lot of natural light.

*When renting our Rock Garden Cottage please note that there is another cottage on the property 100' away. The other cottage may or may not have guest staying at the same time of/during your visit.

What to expect on a shared property: there is some pine trees across the driveway so looking out the Rock Garden Cottage main floor bedroom, you have little /obstructed views of the main cottage from one of the bedroom windows facing the driveway. There are drapes and blinds in the bedroom facing that direction for privacy. The rest of the windows in the main living room and bathroom window/spaces are facing the woods/and or driveway and rock garden firepit, keeping things more of a private space. * The driveway and grill (next to the shed on driveway in the middle between the cottages) will be shared spaces for all guests staying at the cottages to use.
