The holiday park l'Oustal del Carlat is located at the edge of the recreational lake of Carla Bayle and offers a magnificent panoramic view across the Pyrenees. The holiday park has a heated outdoor pool with a children's pool and a spacious terrace with sunbeds (open from April to September, depending on the weather). There's also a solarium present, and a cozy bar with various drinks and snacks. The park has a restaurant with a breakfast service (to arrange locally) as well as several barbecue spots at its disposal. For those who want to be sporty, there are several sports fields: for soccer, tennis, and beach volleybal. There's a minigolf and petanque court as well. For the little ones, there's a playground. In the high season, the park organizes entertainment for children and occasional festive evenings in the nearby artists' village of Carla Bayle (400 m). In addition, Carla Bayle has a bakery and various restaurants boasting a delicious French cuisine. On the 21st of June, the recurring Fête de la Musique is organised, a festival at which amateur musicians show off their skills on the squares and outdoor cafes. The mountain range of the Pyrenees forms the natural border between France and Spain. In the area, various nature parks are alternated with picturesque medieval villages. The environment is ideal for hiking trips; at reception, several hiking trails are available. During your hike, you can spot many different kinds of animals. There's also a tourist train running, the 'train jaune', which will bring you to the various beautiful panoramic viewpoints. One of the most beautiful waterfalls of the Pyrenees is the Ars Waterfall (75 km). This waterfall can only be reached on foot through a beautiful hiking trip of 1.5 hours. 17 km from the holiday park, you'll find the caves of Mas d'Azil, the only natural cave of Europe through which you can drive your car. The cave is eroded by the river Arize. Golfing, rafting, and canoeing are also possible in the area surrounding Ariège (59 km). The city of Toulouse, which is also called the pink town due to its buildings made of pink granite, lies 63 km from the holiday park. On days when the weather isn't that good, children can enjoy the indoor playground. Theme parks in the environment are: Cite de l'espace, a park dedicated to aerospace (69 km); and Xploria, a park about nature, from prehistory to contemporary times (17 km). At 67 km from the holiday park, on the top of a mountain, you'll find the fortress and castle of Montségur, a symbol of the resistance of the Cathars, a religious movement in the 12th and 13th century. A bit further lies Carcassonne (104 km). The town is on UNESCO's World Heritage List; it's the most beautiful authentic town dating back to medieval Europe. With its many restaurants and outdoor cafes, the town boasts a cozy atmosphere. In the summer, there are various festivals and medieval shows. The autonomous principality Andorra (133 km) is also worth a visit. Or what do you think of the beach of Cap d'Agde (223 km) for a day at the Mediterranean Sea? In Cap d'Agde you'll also find 'Aqualand', a water park for the entire family!

Car-free Holiday park l'Oustal del Carlat offers 70 holiday homes suitable for 4 to 8 people. The 4-person houses (FR-09130-05) have two bedrooms. The 6-person houses (FR-09130-07) have three bedrooms. Of the 6-person houses, some are fully adjusted for people with physical disabilities. In these adjusted houses, everything is level-floored and you can park your car right by the door. The 8-person houses (FR-09130-08) have four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two separate toilets. All holiday homes have a terrace with free WiFi and garden furniture.
