Cozy, light-filled cottage, walking distance to Makawao town and a 15 minute drive from beaches. My upcountry cottage is surrounded by lush gardens, with fruit trees and hibiscus in a private front yard, and on the slopes of Haleakala. My cottage is comfortable and has everything you need for a unique Maui stay!

The space:
My 2 bedroom/1 bath cottage is about 600 sq feet and has many windows, allowing lots of light and a spacious feeling, while maintaining privacy with plants all around.

The living area has comfortable seating, a small dining table for 4, and views to the garden with bamboo palms, red hibiscus, orange and papaya trees...

There are 2 small bedrooms, each with a very comfortable memory foam queen bed with super soft bed linens.

The kitchen area has plenty of storage, a full size refrigerator, an electric stove with oven and microwave and toaster/convection oven. It is fully stocked with coffee, tea, condiments and high quality pots, pans and knives, a Vitamix blender for smoothies...There is an outdoor seating area with a gas grill.

The bathroom has a shower over tub and soft towels. I provide beach towels, 2 beach chairs and a boogie board as well.

This home is EcoFriendly, with solar hot water (with a backup electric hot water system for cloudy days and at night). I use earth and human-friendly cleaning products, and provide shampoo, conditioner and soaps that are safe for the environment, have no artificial fragrances and are all natural. I use cotton sheets, towels, and napkins. I provide filtered drinking water and reusable water bottles so you do NOT need to buy bottled water. I recycle as much as possible.

I live in a beautiful part of the world, aware of how all our actions directly impact the earth and ocean, so do my part to add to the health and beauty of this island, and ask that you be respectful of this land, ocean and people as well. *Reef-Safe sunscreen is now required in Maui!

The house can accommodate four people max, with 2 queen beds and one bathroom. It works well for one couple, or a couple of friends...

Guests have access to the entire 600 sq ft cottage, which has a bright, open feel. There is a covered seating area and a lovely private yard as well, with comfortable chairs to enjoy a morning coffee or end the day with a glass of wine - I provide local coffee for you to enjoy!

You have use of the washer and dryer.

There is off-street parking for two cars in the driveway.

I am monitoring the Hawaii travel quarantine and Covid-19 situation globally, and adjusting the calendar accordingly.

I have careful cleaning protocol in place, using eco-safe disinfectants to clean and hot water to wash linens.

My home has solar hot water, with ceiling fans in living and bedrooms, no need for air conditioning or heat, and I use all natural cleaning products, making this a wonderful choice to have as small an environmental impact as possible.
I have a friendly cat, Jai, who likes to come visit. He’s not allowed inside the cottage, but you can visit with him outside if you like cats...
