The property is set across one storey, making it an ideal choice for families with young children, older guests, or those with limited mobility. The interior is open-plan, bright and spacious, featuring a soft cream and white decor with accents of chocolate and rich wood, and has plenty of floor-to-ceiling glass doors, allowing in lots of light and making indoor-to-outdoor living seamless. The villa’s living area has two very comfy sofas - perfect for sinking into after a busy day exploring the local area or for relaxing before your tee time. There is a modern breakfast bar adjacent to the kitchen which offers guests the ideal space for enjoying a morning cuppa or a pre-dinner tipple, and the well-equipped kitchen has all the appliances, utensils, crockery and glassware you’ll need during your stay. This delightful space is perfect for rustling up busy breakfasts or intimate family meals, and there is room at the villa’s solid wood dining table for up to six guests.
The fresh, neutral decor continues into the villa’s three bedrooms, each of which features a double bed. Each room also has ensuite shower facilities, with guests staying in the master bedroom also being able to enjoy a whirlpool bath. Only one of the bedrooms is accessible from the villa’s living area, with the other two accessible from the garden terrace only. This makes Casa Platero wonderfully private for two or more couples holidaying together.
The villa’s garden is idyllic, with a lush lawn area and covered dining space perfect for alfresco meals. There are numerous sun-loungers and seating areas to enjoy and, of course, the villa’s private pool, which is accessible by ladder.
Casa Platero overlooks the region’s Tauro golf course, situated on the sunny southwest coast of Mogan. The resort is celebrated as a year-round golfer’s paradise and is set among lush green gardens, lakes and waterfalls. It also includes facilities such as an 18-hole championship course with PGA maintenance standards, a golf academy that is suitable for all levels, a putting green and a chipping area.
‘The Lovers Beach’, aka nearby Playa de Amadores, looks like a tropical paradise straight out of a movie, with its crescent-shaped shoreline, white sands, palm trees and turquoise waters. Set in a cove and featuring coral sand that never gets too hot, the bay is calm and well-protected from the rougher waves of the open sea. This makes Amadores beach an excellent choice for those who want to swim and paddle, although parents should be aware that as this beach is man-made, shallow areas that are safe to walk on are limited.
The area is popular for scuba diving and snorkelling, and it’s no wonder as the clear waters are teeming with things to see; however, if you prefer to stay above the water, we highly recommend heading to the east end of the beach to rent pedalos. After a day on the beach, head along the promenade for a leisurely walk and enjoy the stunning views of the cliffs and blue waters. A morning stroll along the boardwalk will see people jogging or doing yoga, while an evening walk as the sun sets offers a more romantic and laid-back atmosphere. There is no shortage of incredible restaurants in the region; from traditional Spanish dishes and seafood to European delicacies, burgers, steaks, pizza and vegan and vegetarian options, you’re sure to discover something to suit every everyone. Webers restaurant, nestled right on the beach, is the place to go for tapas, ribs and burgers, and for pizza lovers, VIP Pizza is a firm favourite. We recommend making a reservation, as this popular restaurant gets booked up quite quickly, but they do offer a take-out service if you fancy heading back and enjoying a bite in the comfort of the villa.
