40 minutes from Nice Airport, welcome to a true Provencal experience in a classic, spacious villa of high standards, surrounded by flowers and olive trees with three separate guests suites, pool, summer kitchen and barbecue. The property is part of an extensive old olive grove with protected olives in terraces.
You will have total privacy and plenty of space for outdoor activities. The area offers historic villages, wonderful food, cultural experiences, beautiful nature and a wide range of trails for walking or bicycling. And all this, only 20 minutes from the beach.
The view from the house is spectacular; stretching from the Mediterranian sea (Cannes) to the national park and the rolling hills of Provence. You will have sun all day, but also plenty of shade to relax in.
The main house is a traditional Provencal building, sandy pink on the outside with green shutters. The thick walls give you the comfort of cool rooms inside in the summertime and warmth during the colder season. The property is built for year-round use with heating installed. There is Dyson cooling in the guest suites and fans in some bedrooms. The guest suites in the garden house all have AC. There is a movable AC unit in the dining room/kitchen/living room.
The property sleeps 12-14 people:
Master bedroom (king-size bed) on the ground floor of the main house
In-suite bathroom
Master bedroom (king-size bed) on the first floor of the main house
In-suite bathroom
Pull-out comfortable queen size double bed in common room outside the master bedroom
In-suite bathroom (shower)
3 guest suites under the pool with twin beds
In-suite bathrooms
Baby cot and single childrens' bed available
Two extra foldable (but comfortable) beds available
The entrance hall with restroom for guests and wardrobe, leads to the main sitting room and the heart of the house with comfortable sitting for one, two or many and a beautiful fireplace. From here, you will find the tv-room with a smart tv. The master bedroom on the first floor is quietly situated in its own part of the house, behind the tv-room with an in-suite bathroom and separate toilet. There is plenty of wardrobe space.
In the other direction, the dining room (which easily seats 12) and the open, modern kitchen with a Provencal twist. There is one high chair for children. The fully equipped laundry room is next to the kitchen.
French doors open out from the tv-room, the living room and the dining room/kitchen giving a spectacular view and wonderful light in all rooms. The house used to be owned by a painter who must have appreciated the scenery and the light.
Upstairs in the main house, via the classic stairs from the living room by the entrance hall, you will find the other master bedroom and the common room with extra pull-out double bed, both with in-suite bathrooms and again the spectacular view. Here we also have our office space.
From the kitchen the French doors lead out to into the exceptional view, the terraces in front of the house and the outside dining area in the shade of a classic, Provencal pergola. The barbecue is right outside the kitchen. Here, in season, you will also find the lemon tree, the oranges, the cumquats, the figues and the grapes. All there to be eaten.
By the stairs leading down to the pool area, you will find a small selection of herbes, conveniently close to the kitchen.
In this section, you will enjoy the shade from the big, old magnolia tree. There is also a romantic bench for a morning cup of tea/coffee or a cafe table for two for a quiet glass of wine when the evening sets in.
Down the stairs to the pool area and the truly spectacular view. Relax in one of the comfortable sun beds and see the Mediteranean sea without all the people. The pool area, as the rest of the property, is very private. Children can run around in the garden which is completely safe and secluded and big enough for fun.
In the newly upgraded pool area there are several sitting groups and parasols. The pool is heated. There is access to a full bathroom with toilet and shower and also a solar shower outside. The summer kitchen provides a fridge, waterboiler, toaster, stove and everything one needs to prepare and serve a nice meal. The big, rustique dining table is in total shade. A haven for getting away from the sun a little while and for playing cards or board games. It is used as a popular breakfast spot for anyone staying in the guest suites under the pool as well as a snacking point while staying at the pool. Obviously, it is fully stocked with plastic glasses to avoid glass shards in the pool area.
Beside the dining table there is a door that leads to the room where we keep all the outdoor toys and games, including the popular electronic darts' game. In case of a little rain, this is where we also store pillows for the pool area furniture. A professional size boule area is waiting in the garden.
Down the stairs from the pool area, one arrives at the three guest suites, built only a few years ago. Needless to say, these rooms are very popular, a little away from the main house. Each suite has in-suite bathrooms (shower) and French doors open out towards a very nice view. Outside, a cafe table provides the possibility for a morning cup of tea or coffee or for a late night glass of wine - or only for a bit of star-gazing. The rooms have full AC.
A paragraph about the evenings and nights:
A true Provencal house is built with thick walls to make sure that the house is cool in summertime and warm in winter. The shutters for doors and windows should be kept closed in the direct sun. These also provide darkness in the mornings. (As do the blinds in the guest suites). We do not have a big problem with mosquitos, but it is always a good idea to use the mosquito covers in the windows and never have the lights on with the doors or the windows open. There is a selection of mosquito repellent/remedies in the kitchen as well as in the bedrooms. Put on a little mosquito repellent for those wonderful long evenings outside.
Once in the house, our meet-and-greet agent will provide you with the House book which is a collection of practical information, help and advice concerning your stay in the property and the area.
