Stay for a long weekend or an entire season at our lovely mountain retreat! Located in the Split Rock Resort community of Lake Harmony, our 4 bedroom, 2 full bath chalet is perfect for a group of 10 to 12 guests. The house is perfectly placed on a quiet/spacious lot but also conveniently close to everything the Poconos area has to offer. There are plenty of local restaurants around the lake with outdoor seating and live music such as Nick’s Lakehouse, Piggy’s, Terra Cottage Café, Shenanigan’s, and Boulder View Tavern. Looking to stay close and keep the car parked? Split Rock Resort Town Center is a short 10 minute walk (2 min drive) from the house and offers a fitness center, H20ooohh Indoor Water Park, full service salon and spa, movie theater, arcade, bowling alley, restaurants, and a bar for adults to unwind. Split Rock Lodge and Lake Harmony Beach is also a short 10 minute walk (2 min drive) in the other direction offering Lakeview Tavern and Thirsty Moose Bar inside the lodge along with the Sand Beach Bar and Grill outside on the lagoon. You can also walk to the top of the sledding hill (right off of our back yard) to check out the actual Split Rock and enjoy the beautiful views from its viewing tower. Also just right down the street you will find a park with a playground, baseball field, miniature golf course, bike rentals, bocce, volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts.
As for the house itself… Enjoy the beautiful views that Mother Nature provides all year long with the change of each season with the floor to ceiling windows in our upstairs living room. In the winter you can get cozy by the fire with a glass of wine or a warm beverage in either upstairs or downstairs living room. In the warmer weather months, enjoy a fire under the stars with a fire pit out on the back deck or in the yard. Stuck inside on a rainy day? Enjoy a movie on our large flat screen TV or get creative with the kids using our arts and crafts kit. Play a game of foosball, pool, ping-pong, and much more on our multipurpose game table downstairs. There are also plenty of board games and video games to keep the group entertained into the night. On beautiful sunny days you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee on either deck and take in the beautiful scenery that surrounds our house. Lounge in the hammock with a good book or hop in the golf cart for a cruise around the neighborhood to check out all that Split Rock has to offer. Cook a delicious dinner out on the grill and dine outside on the big deck with seating for 6 at the table and plenty of other comfy spots to lounge. Ready to retire for the night? The kids will love the bunk bed room supplied with a variety of books for a snuggly bed time story. As for the adults, you will find queen and king size beds in the other bedrooms along with a dresser and plenty of closet space for of your belongings. Snuggle in as you watch your favorite show on the flat screen TV before you call it a night. In the winter, control your comfort level with individual thermostats in each bedroom. In the summer, open the windows to enjoy the cool night breeze as you drift off to sleep listening to Mother Nature’s lullaby. The ceiling fans and oscillating fans keep the cool night air flowing.
As parents ourselves, we realize how much vacation can feel more like a RELOCATION when traveling with babies and toddlers. Having to pack up just about the entire nursery and playroom can be daunting! This is why we try to accommodate our little guests as much as possible to make their stay (along with their parents stay) run as smoothly as possible. Besides supplying a Pack n’ Play (along with the proper linens) there is a bed rail placed on one of the lower bunk beds for toddlers transitioning to the “big boy/girl” bed. You will also find plenty of night lights to keep you little ones comfortable at night and to make it easy for adults navigating around an unfamiliar floorplan in the middle of the night. Black-out curtains are strategically placed in the kids/bunk bed room to help with mid-day naps and you will also find step stools and adjustable toilet seats in each bathroom. Meal time should be easier with the provided high chair, sippy cups, and toddler utensils. Keep the kids entertained with the large variety of toys supplied in both living rooms. Baby gates and a play pen are also provided to keep baby safe and within eyesight. Hopefully with everything we’ve provided for our little guests, your luggage (and mental checklist) will feel lighter. TOWELS AND LINENS ARE PROVIDED and professionally laundered. In a nutshell, we realize vacation is a BIG deal and for most of us, hard to come by. Besides providing a clean and serene living space, making our home practical and visitor friendly is super important to us. Come stay and see for yourself!
